NBC's Heroes TV Show: The Top Five Fan Websites

Dee Bovis
The internet is a great place to find out more about the NBC hit TV show, Heroes. Many fans have launched websites covering Heroes. As the webmaster of Heroes quick news site (heroesinfo.com), I keep up with many of the Heroes fansites. Out of all the fansites I've visited, these five fansites set themselves apart from the rest. If you're looking for Heroes news, photos, videos, or spoilers, you can be sure to find them in one of these websites. In no particular order, here are the top five Heroes fansites.

Heroes Revealed (heroesrevealed.com)
The first thing that attracted me to Heroes Revealed was the design. Heroes Revealed has a site design that fits the TV show perfectly. It uses white text over a black background. It shows the Heroes text logo with the solar eclipse. It reminds me of the official NBC Heroes website. It's well-written and the webmaster, Ozan Caglargil, always seems to find the latest Heroes scoop. Also, I appreciate Ozan's creativity. He started a social network (think myspace for Heroes fans). He created a character image map showing the connections between the heroes, and he sells Heroes clothing (including a bib!).

Heroes the Series (heroestheseries.com)
This may be the most well-known Heroes fan site. The webmaster, Sam, uses many awesome pictures to set his fansite apart. Every blog entry has a picture, and the picture makes you want to read the entry. Heroes The Series also has an active community. Most blog posts have at least one comment and some have over ten. The community is most active in Sam's forum. The forum members have created over 1,500 threads and 24,000 posts. If I had more time, I would spend it participating in the forum. The forum members are a friendly bunch. They are quick to find new Heroes news, and they start great discussions about the show.

Heroes Wiki (heroeswiki.com)
Since we're talking about active Heroes fans, I'll point you to Heroes Wiki. This is the premiere wiki for Heroes. Heroes Wiki has over 950 articles. It's a great reference site with many fan contributions. Many of the contributions are detailed. For example, I clicked on the "random page" link and found a page titled "Examples of electronic data transception." This page refers to Hana, a minor character so far, and her ability. The page has 25 pictures and 573 words. The recap for Episode 19, Parasite, has over 4,500 words. If you're looking a comprehensive reference fansite, you can't go wrong with Heroes Wiki.

Heroes TV (heroes-tv.com)
Heroes TV has a great community blog. Because of the multiple bloggers, Heroes TV gives us new Heroes information quickly. If you want the latest information on Heroes, Heroes TV will keep you informed. Also, Heroes TV has a very active forum with over 1,800 threads and 28,000 posts. Another thing that attracts me to Heroes TV is their media section. This section has thousands of Heroes pictures.

The Tenth Wonder (thetenthwonder.com)
At first glance, The Tenth Wonder looks like a typical Heroes blog. However, the webmasters, Graham and Tucker, set their fansite apart by producing a podcast. Not only do they have a podcast, but they also play voicemails from other Heroes fans in their podcast. Another thing they do that I don't see much of is analyze the promo videos to the upcoming episodes. If you want something different from the average Heroes fansite, check out The Tenth Wonder.
