Production and Direction:
One of my favorite all time shows was West Wing so the thought of Kevin Falls, the creator, producer and writer of that show along with Alex Graves, the director and producer also of West Wing, and, who will be directing this pilot as well as being the executive producer, practically assures, in my mind at least, that Journeyman will be the show to watch this season.
The Story:
Dan Vasser, (Kevin McKidd, star of last years hit series, Rome), is a newspaper reporter in San Francisco, his life until now has been a perfect one, he has a devoted wife Katie, an adorable little boy and a fantastic job which he really enjoys...
But wait, things are about to change when he starts to have black outs and mysteriously travels back in time, where, in the past, he encounters his dead fiancée, Livia... Well, she is supposed to be dead since she was supposed to have been killed in a plane crash...these travels cause all sorts of problems in the present, when he can't explain where he has been during these strange disappearances to his family, friends and to those he works with the stress he feels causes even more problems when he has to try to make his friends and wife understand, how can he do that when he doesn't understand himself what is going on ..... And then it gets even more complicated with this new reunion with that old girlfriend. You can be sure this is going to cause quite a few new dilemmas in his life....these travels also impact others and, now that he knows the present, can he change the future?
One of the twists of Journeyman is that in order to get back home he must change events of at least one stranger's life who he connects with in the past.
The creator of the show, Kevin Falls, describes the series as being: "An epic romance with a sci-fi twist" That certainly sounds good to me and peaks my interest.
The previews are good for this show and so is the time slot on NBC, Monday nights right after the hit show Heros...The Journeyman will be premiering 10:00 P.M. September 24th..I know I'm looking forward to it!
Cast of Charactors:
Kevin McKidd: Dan Vasser
Gretchen Egolf: Katie
Moon Bloodgood: Livia
Reed Diamond: Jack Vasser
Charles Henry Wyson: Zack Vasser
Brian Howe: Hugh Skillen

Post a CommentI'm pretty sure that I started watching this but I kept dozing off. It seemed interesting, but there wasn't a ton of dialog, so nothing brought me back to the show after my extended blinks. Too bad it's not on earlier so all the old folk like me can make it through a whole episode.
I might have to tune in to this one. You've got my curiosity aroused. :-)
Great review, I missed this one as well.
Ack! Meant to catch it but missed. Very cool to get a good preview from you. Thanks a bunch! :o)
I watched it last night and found it to be a fragmented series, that confuses the mind, unfortunately, as I was truly looking forward to it. The flashbacks are disconcerting, but the actors were certainly real and excellent in their performances. Maybe it will get better in time. We will see.
Missed this one too.
I'll have to check this one out.
I'm a sucker for time travel stuff so I have my fingers crossed.
Good review. Well-written article,
I'm definitely watching this one. Great review!
