NBC's 'The Voice' Finals Predictions

Ayanna Guyhto

The endless comparisons to its Fox nemesis, "American Idol," have gotten a little tedious. But while you can't ignore the similarities, (or the satisfying differences) it's refreshing to watch a reality show that concentrates on how its contestants actually sound. NBC's "The Voice" swaps judges with coaches, which is where musicians Cee-Lo, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton come in. They've been given the daunting task of selecting their favorite voices, leaving some out in the cold. But now we're down to the semi-finals, and the group will soon be chopped in half. Who will make it to the end? Some predictions...

Frenchie Davis vs. Beverly McClellan (Team Christina)

Audiences love these two bald beauties for varying reasons. First and foremost is Frenchie's reality TV comeback. American Idol's underdog has discovered a more discerning fan base on NBC's "The Voice." But Beverly McClelland's multi-genre crossing bluesy chops are the stuff that Melissa Etheridge fans are certain to vote for. The winner? Give it up for Bev, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Nakia vs. Vicci Martinez (Team Cee-Lo)

Oh boy, what a stickler this particular competition is going to be. Both of Cee-Lo's top stars offer a similar energy, albeit it in vastly different packages. Nakia proved during his solo performance that he can slow down and soften up (a little.) On the other hand, Vicci Martinez and her drum-beating steez were considered the best of the night. Who will carry on as the Gnarls Barkley frontman's favorite? The public saved Vicci before; and it just might happen again.

Javier Colon vs. Casey Weston (Team Adam)

Javier Colon may be a crowd favorite. But little Casey Weston is the underdog to beat. You almost forget that the high school graduate who belts like a baby Stevie Nicks is as young as she is. Both are musicians. Both have a strong affinity for classic and alternative rock music. But it's Javier whose voice has the most power and flexibility. And since there can only be one from Adam Levine's team to make it to the finals, Colon just might be a shoo-in.

Dia Frampton vs. Xenia (Team Blake)

The competition between Dia Frampton and Xenia is perhaps the most bittersweet on the entire show. Country crooner Blake Shelton has taken quite a liking to these understated, yet sultry-voiced young ladies. He's taken each girl under his wing, encouraging each to embrace her inner chanteuse. Dia goes the light and airy route, while teenaged Xenia sings with the rasp of an old soul. Who will carry on in the competition? Dia and her mutable musical skills, perhaps.
