NC Business Leaders to Get 2011 Economic Forecast

Richard Banks
The Great Recession has put a strain on the global economy. Locally, Raleigh small business owners want to have assurance from local business leaders that 2011 will be a more profitable year. Business leaders from around the triangle will have an opportunity to listen to local business experts on the state of the economy as it relates to 2011.

The Economic Forecast Forum is sponsored by the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce as well as the North Carolina Bankers Association. One of the key note speakers at the event will be Mark Vitner, economist for Wells Fargo Securities as well as Senator Pete Brunstetter, Representative Harold Brubaker, and Erskine Bowles, former president of the University of North Carolina system and co-chairman of Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility

One major concern of the Raleigh small business owner as echoed by Vitner is the reduced effects of the Recession which began over 18 month ago. Vitner will be speaking of the growth opportunities within the coming year. He will also discuss the impact of the legislation regarding the tax cuts and how it relates to business, especially the small business. Vitner goes on to state stimulus money should have been spend on structural concerns within the state and not to correct "cyclical imbalances".

During the course of the past 10 years North Carolina has seen a decreased in manufacturing positions as tourism and technology have boomed.

Small business owners in the Raleigh area can attend the Economic Forecast Forum by registering here: ncbankers.org or tuning to wral.com for live coverage.
