NCAA Football 11 Review

A Great Addition to a Great Franchise!

Dominique Williams
The NCAA Football franchise by EA Sports has had its ups and downs during the previous years. Many fans of the franchise have noticed little to almost no worthy improvements between each year's new installments. But I am happy to say that this year's installment is definitely a winner.

NCAA Football 11 is EA's latest addition to the franchise. There have been amazing improvements to the graphics and gameplay. Player models look amazing and more life-like than ever and crowd cutscenes are extremely realistic and add a little spice to the college atmosphere of the game. There are unique team entrances for every team that gets you hyped up and ready for the game. The overall presentation makes you actually feel like you are at a real college game (or at least watching on ESPN!).

The offline game modes in NCAA Football 11 have not changed much from last year's installment unfortunately. Although they are still very fun to play, new additions and changes would have made it better. Road to Glory mode, which chronicles the life of your created student athlete, is all-too-familiar with the same cutscenes from Erin Andrews as the previous year. Dynasty Mode is the same also, only with new visual treatment. A new addition to the list of offline modes is 1-Button Mode. This allows the player to use one button to punt, snap the ball, kick, and pass. It is a very simplified version of classic football gameplay.

The online modes in NCAA Football 11 are new and absolutely amazing. Online Dynasty mode allows the player to compete with up to 11 other teams per season and have the advantages of a full dynasty. New to this online mode is Dynasty Wire. Dynasty Wire can be accessed via computer, iPhone, iPod Touch, or wherever you have internet connectivity. Wherever you are, your online dynasty can come with you. Even recruiting can be done from your computer!

NCAA Football 11 is definitely a great addition to the franchise. Despite not having many new additions in offline modes, the new Online Dynasty is astounding and extremely fun to play. The game is currently selling for $60 and is definitely worth the money.
