Wordsleuth's AC Record in 2007:
0-0-0

VIRGINIA TECH -28 over East Carolina

Virginia Tech's emotional return to the football field will hopefully help the university heal from the terrible tradgedies that happened in April. Tech will take no mercy on East Carolina and will try to put a smile on their fans face.

#1 overall defense in the country the last three years will smother East Carolina and have them praying for even a field goal.

Virginia Tech 56
East Carolina 10

Washington -3.5 over Syracuse

Washington will play their easternmost game ever and should be pretty tired to face an Orange team that should be pumped for their home opener. Even with that, Washington's new freshman quarterback Locker comes in with a lot of promise and will look to impress. Washington should win handily in a revenge game for Huskie coach Ty Willingham, who lost at the hands of the Orange in the Carrier Dome when he was in South Bend.

Washington 36
Syracuse 13

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA -47 over Idaho

I know, 47 points seems like a lot but it really isn't. The Trojans will put up 70 or more points on the vandals and this game will not even be close. John David Booty and the #1 ranked Trojans will smother the Vandals with their great defense and just as great offense.

USC 77
Idaho 6

Auburn -13 over Kansas State

Kansas State does have upset potential, just ask some of their Big 12 rivals, but they are definetly most dangerous at home where the home fans have their back. Kansas State will certainly have their hands full when they travel to #13 ranked Auburn. The Kansas State football team is getting better, but I just don't think they will have it in them.

Auburn 27
Kansas State 13

TEXAS -38.5 over Arkansas State

The lines always seem high for the first game of the season for the big name teams, but the truth is they are never really high enough. These are the games that the home team wins by more than 50 points, but you rarely see a line that high. While Texas will be missing some top receivers, the third and fourth string players are fr more than adequate and will be looking to prove themselves for the Horns.

Texas 56
Arkansas State 10

UL Layfayette +28.5 over SOUTH CAROLINA

This is my first upset call of the season. UL-Layfayette is a much better team than many might think and they have a great quarterback, which is one thing very necessary for an upset. While I do not think the Ragin' Cajuns will win the game, 28.5 points seems like a lot for the Gamecocks to be giving to their guests.

UL-Layfayette 21
South Carolina 54

BYU -3 over Arizona

BYU will be a great team in the Mountain West this season and should start their season off right with a win at home. Arizona is a terrible football team who has yet to improve year after year. BYU will be very tough to play at home and they will win this game with their patient offense.

BYU 24
Arizona 17
