NCAA Picks Against the Spread for December 5th Weekend

SEC Title Game and a Few Obscure Games Line Up for Some Potential Winners

Todd Jacobs
Last weeks games didn't disappoint. There were some great rivalry games and some duds. If USC doesn't throw that bomb at the end of the game to start a near riot, I don't think the game would have made the highlights. Between UCLA receivers dropping passes all night and Matt Barkley from USC not being able to make a simple read on a screen pass more than once, it is a surprise that the game didn't end 0-0.

Georgia Tech getting beat by Georgia was an easy outright winning pick we had last week and we did have to sweat with the 18 points and Illinois but they made it. The Nevada Wolfpack I thought had a chance at the upset but they did cover for us, so can't complain there. Click here to see last weeks picks. Stanford you let me down. Notre Dame is helpless and you couldn't put 14 more on them?

#2 Alabama Crimson Tide vs #1 Florida Gators -6

I have to ask myself , was I slanting the numbers because I can't take another BCS Championship Game with the Gators or do I really legitimately like the Crimson Tide in this defensive tilt. I like the Bama defense to thwart Tim Tebow in this game and either pull out a three point win or lose a heart breaker on a last minute field goal. If Tebow shows up and wins this game Saturday he may almost live up to the hype machine created by the Florida PR staff. I like Alabama +5. Shop this game and don't bet under the +6.

Nebraska Cornhuskers vs #3 Texas Longhorns -14

Tough game with Nebraska looking to pull a huge upset and make their way into a big bowl. Colt McCoy with the spotlight on him as a potential Heisman trophy winner (read here). The Cornhuskers are in a win-win situation with this game. They look respectable and they get a nice bowl, they win outright and they have something to build on for next year and get a big bowl game. Take the Huskers +14 and get as many points as you can if the line moves. The line is right where it should be.

Wisconsin Badgers vs Hawaii Warriors +11 1/2

I know what some say about teams taking a game at the end of the season in Hawaii. They are traveling too far or they won't be focused because they will be partying. Hawaii isn't the same Hawaii as in years past. Look for the Badgers to score quick and coast in the second half. This could cause some exposure to a back door cover. Take the Badgers and it may be stressful at the end but they should cover the 11 plus spread. Stay away if this line moves much higher though. Badgers -11 1/2.

Cincinnati Bearcats vs Pittsburgh Panthers Pick em

This is essentially a playoff game hosted by the Panthers who will have home field. The Bearcats are everyones darlings and the Panthers are the step child in the Big East this year. I am not a fan of Panther coach Dave Wannstedt but this is his game to lose. He has something to prove against Bearcat coach Brian Kelly who is being mentioned for every big coaching job in the country right now starting with Notre Dame (read here). Whoever wins should be in a BCS game based on their records. Take the Panthers straight up and hope Mr Wannstedt steps up and pulls this off.

New Mexico State Aggies vs Boise State Broncos -47 1/2

Take a flyer on the points very, very small play. Boise State should pull some players late preparing for their BCS game. Use this on a parlay you have a few sketchy picks with. How is that for a recommendation? New Mexico State +47 1/2 and close your eyes and hold on tight.

As always watch the line moves, if your in Las Vegas ,check a few spots before making your bets. Casinos are connected to each other Stations Casinos will all have same lines, as will Harrah's and MGM Mirage. Click the links and it will show all the casinos connected to that brand. That will save you shopping time.

I agreed with Alabama and New Mexico State this week but I picked against you in your other three games. The three I picked against you, I wouldn't bet any of those games though.
