NCAA Tournament West Bracket Cheat Sheet Printable: Rounds One and Two

The NCAA Tournament West bracket has the potential for a few upsets but the big favorites should prevail coming out of Anaheim. Duke is the No.1 seed in the region and they may be tested in the second round by an upstart Tennessee team if they advance to the second round. Texas is another team that may have the potential to make a run out of this region.

Anaheim West Regional Winners

Duke gets rewarded with another No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and another potentially easy run to the Sweet 16. Duke will take on Hampton in the first round and after they finish with Hampton they will take on the Tennessee Volunteers in the second round. If Tennessee gets past Michigan it will be a good matchup against the Duke squad.

The No. 8 versus the No. 9 game between Tennessee and Michigan will be one of the best games in the Honda Center in Anaheim. This game will be won on the boards and it will be won by Tennessee. The second round game between Duke and Tennessee will not be a a typical No.1 seed taking on a No. 9 seed.

When these two meet, the best player on the floor may be Tennessee's hottest shooter Scotty Hopson. If he is on from three point range Tennessee will win. Take Tennessee in this game because everyone else will have Duke.

Arizona pulls a tough first round team when they play Memphis but Arizona does have one of the best shooters in the tournament. Derrick Williams will be the hammer in this game and if he can hit some key three's, Arizona will cruise past Memphis. The second round matchup is likely to be Texas against Arizona and this does not bode well for the Wildcats. Texas will outwork Arizona on the boards and they will move on to the Sweet 16.

Texas has a first round matchup against a relatively unknown Oakland team. Many people will be surprised that Oakland is the second best shooting team in the NCAA Tournament and they also rank 14th in the NCAA in rebounding. This is where Texas will have the edge, on the boards. Texas will have their hands full but they will prevail and move on to the Sweet 16.

The No. 6 Cincinnati Bearcats versus the No. 11 Missouri Tigers may be the first big upset in Anaheim. Missouri stumbled their way into the NCAA Tournament but five or more days of rest may be just what the doctor ordered. Cincinnati enters the game with six wins in their last eight games but the pick is Missouri.

Connecticut takes on Bucknell in their first game and then they should face Missouri in the second round. Everybody will be on Connecticut in the second round, this is why it is a good move to take Missouri in this spot. It will be a potential bracket buster and could lead to a winning bracket.

A good No. 10 seed versus a No. 7 matchup will be Penn St taking on Temple. I have been watching a lot of analysts down play Penn St in this spot and with good reason. Penn St is shooting 43 percent and they rank 155th in the country. Both teams have won four of their last sixth and Penn St will the nod in this close game.

The San Diego State Aztecs may be the most underrated team in the NCAA Tournament. Steve Fisher has a Final Four worthy team and they have been given a clear path to the Sweet 16. SDSU will take down Northern Colorado with no problem and then they will make short work of Penn St. in the second round.
