NCFC v. Charlton: A Preview

James Kent
Norwich must be ready to do a professional job against Charlton. Charlton may not have won in 13 games, but the longer the game is 0-0 the more the confidence will grow. Norwich must come out of the blocks early and hopefully grab an early goal. Do that and Charlton's heads will drop and the game will be a lot easier.

Charlton are another one of those clubs in the championship, who are littered with loan players. Although it would be fair to say Charlton's loan players are a notch below Norwich's. Obviously loan players are going to become a key talking point, as many of Norwich's crop come to an end. It's fairly clear that Sibierski, Koroma and Bertrand will all be going back to their parent clubs.

Meanwhile John Kennedy has had his spell cut short with the news he faces up to five weeks on the sidelines. Hoolahan & lita are set for recalls for the match against Charlton. However, Roeder will have other decisions to make over Russell and Fotheringham, who both started the last game. One thing that might make that decision easier is the state of play with Matty Pattison as a slight doubt. It is expected that the South African will have no problem recovering.

The most important decision for Glenn Roeder will come in central defence. With John Kennedy sent back to Celtic it's expected Elliott Omozusi will take his place. However, Adam Drury may also be in contention. With Ryan Bertrand struggling to find his best form then Drury may come in anyway. It's expected that Roeder will stick with the 4-5-1 system, but there is a slim possibility he will give Carl Cort his first start and go with a 4-4-2. No other changes are expected.

My team is as follows:

Marshall

Bertrand Omozusi Doherty Otsemobor

Bell Clinghan Pattison Croft

Hoolahan

Lita

Places on the sub bench are up for grabs this week. Drury, Fotheringham, Russell, Lupoli, Nelson and Cort are the main players to fight it out.

Match Prediction

I am taking the unusual approach of predicting a big win for this one. If Norwich approaches the game in the right way then a big win will follow. I am going for a 5-0 win with Lita and Hoolahan being star performers. So here is hoping that Norwich can record a big win and pile more pressure on Charlton.
