NCIS: Los Angeles - a History of the Cast

A More Serious NCIS

NCIS: Los Angeles a spin off of NCIS. Producers at CBS are hoping for another big hit in the crime/drama genre. The original NCIS was a spin-off of Jag. Now that we are spinning out of control, it's time to find out what the members of NCIS Los Angeles did before landing on the CBS set.

Linda Hunt plays "Hetty" Lange on NCIS: Los Angeles. Lange is an Operations Manager of the NCIS: Los Angeles series. Linda was born on April 2, 1945. She has played in many movies, and television series. Hunt is best known for playing a male photographer of Chinese Australian ancestry. Hunt portrayed this character in the 1982 movie,The Year of Living Dangerously. Hunt won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, for her portrayal of the male camera man. I guess she could have won Best Supporting Actor as well. Hunt has also appeared in movies, Popeye, and Kindergarten Cop, just to name a few. On television Linda Hunt was in The Practice, as Judge Joey Hiller. I applaud NCIS: Los Angeles for casting Linda Hunt. Many shows would have cast a blond bimbo in this role, for ratings. Things like bringing class actors like Hunt, into the fold, set the NCIS shows apart from the competition. Linda Hunt also does much narrative work. Her voice can be heard on various Disney productions.

Peter Cambor plays Nate Getz on NCIS: Los Angeles. Cambor was born on September 28, 1978. He didn't begin acting until 2002. He was in films, The J2 Project and Up to the Roof. Cambor was doing theater, when ABC spotted him. That is when Cambor landed a starring role in the ABC series, Notes from the Underbelly. That sitcom ran two years on ABC from 2006 to 2008. Cambor has played the NCIS psychologist Nate Getz for CBS, since the beginning of NCIS: Los Angeles, in September of 2009.

Daniela Ruah plays Special Agent Kensi Blye for NCIS: Los Angeles. She works in the Office of Special Projects. Daniela Ruah is a Portuguese actress, who was born on December 2, 1983. Most of her works have been on Portuguese television. She came to New York in 2007 to further her acting career, at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. Ruah was hoping that this move would lead to advancing her career. By her reception from NCIS: Los Angeles fans, I think she succeeded.

LL Cool J plays Special Agent Sam Hanna on NCIS: Los Angeles. Sam is an ex Navy Seal, who is the agency top Arabic authority. LL was born on January 14, 1968. He started his career as a rapper. LL Cool J has too many songs and albums to list. He raps about love in most of his works. LL has had hits like I Need Love, I'm Bad, and Knock You Out, just to name a few. Recently, LL has come out with an NCIS inspired song. His movie career was highlighted with the 1999 movie, On Any Given Sunday. He has also had roles in the 2002 Rollerball and S.W.A.T. movies. LL Cool J had his own sitcom in 1995 called, In The House. He is a versatile actor, with no role to big. LL Cool J always has his hands in many different projects.

Chris O'Donnel plays Special Agent Callen on NCIS: Los Angeles. Callen is at his best when working undercover. O'Donnel was born on July 26, 1970. He is perhaps known best for his role in the Batman movies. O'Donnel was Robin in Batman Forever, and Batman and Robin. Chris has played in many movies. He was in Fried Green Onions, Scent of a Woman, and Max Payne, just to name some of the more popular ones. O'Donnel has done television series as well. He has been on The Practice and Grey's Anatomy. Chris O'Donnel was a model during his childhood. He did a commercial for McDonald's, with Michael Jordan.

The actors and actresses for NCIS: Los Angeles seem to have been carefully picked by CBS. They all compliment one another very well. The producers seem to want a more scientific NCIS, than the original CBS, NCIS. It makes sense, without change the shows would be too much alike. If one likes sensationalism they can watch the original NCIS. If you desire a more serious show, then tune into NCIS: Los Angeles.

This sounds like a 5th grader wrote it! It is painful to read!! And Chris O'Donnell (with TWO "l's") was in a movie called Fried Green Tomatoes, not Fried Green Onions. Time to freelance as something else.
