"NCIS" Season 8 Episode 11 "Ships in the Night"

CJMathis
This season on "NCIS" the audience gets one more little peek into the life of our beloved Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon). It seems we see a peek of each of our "NCIS" stars past life during every season. Viewers just need to listen closely and soon we will all know the stars of "NCIS" most intimate secrets.

The episode, "Ships in the Night" aired on January 11, 2011 in which we see the "NCIS" team share their investigation with the Coast Guard Investigative Services Unit, Special Agent Abigail Borin (Diane Neal) after she is onboard a dinner ship where a marine is killed.

In the past viewers have seen Abigail and Gibbs together and there always seems to be a hidden spark between the two of them. We never quite see the spark take off but the banter that occurs could be quite volatile.

"Ships in the Night" is not much different than many of the other "NCIS" shows viewers have enjoyed in the past seasons, we see Ducky (David McCallum) do his magic on finding the cause of death. We enjoy Abby (Pauley Perrette) do her magic with the photos, specks of blood and all the goo we have come to expect. Of course DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) have that same spark of fun between them while they investigate the death of Marine Jeremy Nolan. Sweet McGee (Sean Murray) plays the keys of the computer like music at the symphony and keeps the blood flowing through the team as they work together.

Here in episode 11, season 8 we get that little peek when Borin checks out Gibbs pictures tacked up behind his desk. She ask McGee if these are photos of Gibb's friends and we hear McGee respond with, "No I don't think Gibbs has any friends to speak of" and in the middle of Borin's response to seek more info on Jethro's past of course; Gibbs does his usual quick entrance, cutting off any information being shared with us the viewers.

We know Jethro has had four wives, one daughter (who was murdered) and one wife who married his friend Tobias Fornell (Joe Spano), a past affair with Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly) when they were both agents, and his open love for Abby as if she were a daughter.

Each episode gives us a speck more for each actor and in the end viewers may just know what makes each of the fascinating characters tick.

"NCIS-Ships in the Night" fulfilled the opening event for this seasons "NCIS" and it keeps viewers coming back for more of this shows serious and comical events. I know I for one will be returning weekly to watch each character grow, and try to piece together their past.
