"NCIS" - Tony and Ziva Together?

Since "NCIS" introduced Ziva David, there has been tension building between her and Tony DiNozzo. Where once him and Kate had chemistry, that past chemistry is nothing compared to what simmers between Tony and Ziva. Throughout the show, the two have had their moments. Sometimes leaving viewers to wonder if something actually happened. Will Tony and Ziva finally have a chance or will something always come between them?

Tony and Jeanne

Though Tony always tries to remain aloof when it comes to women, his undercover assignment from the director causes him to fall in love with Jeanne, the daughter of the man he's supposed to get information about. The longer the ruse goes on, the deeper Tony falls. Even Ziva is concerned that Tony is getting in too deep. After all is revealed, Jeanne tells Tony she can't trust him and their relationship is over. Ziva tries to help Tony pick up the pieces, but Tony is too devastated to care.

Michael Rivkin

Whether due to jealousy or his desire to protect Ziva, Tony ends up shooting Mossad agent Michael Rivkin, who Ziva has been spending time with. This created a huge rift between the two, resulting in Ziva remaining in Israel after the investigation after Rivkin's murder is over.

After several months of not hearing anything from Ziva, the team tracks her to her last known location. While on a mission to kill Saleem Ulman in South Africa, Ziva disappeared. Tony and McGee go to find her, only to be taken prisoner themselves. Saleem threatens to kill a hostage if Tony doesn't tell him everything about the NCIS agents. The hostage turns out to be Ziva. Thanks to Gibbs, Saleem is taken out at the last minute, allowing Tony, McGee and Ziva to escape. This leads Ziva to return to NCIS and wonder why Tony cared so much as to come after her.

Honeymoon

During one assignment, Ziva and Tony are asked to play a couple on their honeymoon in a hotel room. The two are supposed to listen in on suspects while acting out their supposed love for each other. Though it seems like pretend, there have been hints that the two actually slept in the same bed together, but no one will either confirm or deny it. However, neither had any problem with pretending to be a couple.

Ray

Tony tries to hide his jealousy under the guise of curiosity, but he doesn't quite succeed when he finds out Ziva is seeing someone. The more she tells him about the mysterious Ray, who travels a lot and is a wonderful man, the more flustered he becomes. Tony becomes almost unbearable when Ziva goes off on vacation for a few days with Ray. He wants to meet him, but Ziva continues to tease him and reveals as little as possible about Ray.

Though the two obviously like each other, neither wants to bridge the gap or do anything to destroy their professional and personal friendship after all they've been through. It's possible as "NCIS" progresses the two may actually get together, similar to how "JAG" progressed with their series finale with Mac and Harm finally coming together.
