Neal Bortz Show: March 5, 2009

Recap of Today's Neal Bortz Show

Bruce Ziebarth
Not everyone is in a position to listen to Neal Boortz everyday. What a shame! I am an avid fan of Neal Boortz. Neal Boortz is one of the few talk show hosts that are not Republican. In fact, Neal will speak against any party that is wrong on any issue. Below is my recap of Neal Boortz's show for March 5, 2009.

National Healthcare System
Early on, Neal Boortz began speaking about our potential national healthcare system. Neal Boortz gave examples of established national healthcare systems and the issues they have. One example was from Sweden. The Sweden National Council on Cancer has stated that in a few years mammograms will not be available to most Swedish woman. This shortage of Mammograms is due to doctor shortages related to Sweden's nationalized healthcare system.

Neal Boortz continued about why American politicians are pushing up towards socialized or nationalized medicine. As Neal Boortz stated, officially this is out of concern for anyone who does not have health insurance. But, is that really the reason? Neal brought up some very good points about other countries that have tried nationalized healthcare.

Canada, Sweden, and several other countries have tried socialized healthcare. In every country, it has ended with too few doctors for too many patients. Patients are being asked to wait on critical procedures. There are many examples of this from many countries. Given these examples, why would our politicians still be pushing socialized medicine?

Neal Boortz boiled it down to one word, power. Neal stated, "national healthcare is about control and power over people not about public health." Let's face it; we have a large number of American citizens that believe they are ENTITLED to life, liberty, and happiness. Not the pursuit of happiness, just happiness. Healthcare has become one of these entitlements.

Why don't the politicians stand up and say, "we can lower taxes and provide a climate for business to thrive, the rest is up to you." Such a true statement that you will never hear a politician say. As Neal Boortz pointed out, many politicians want to stay in power. One of the fastest ways to achieve this is to make the citizens dependent on them. When you are dependent on the government for your health than you will rail against any politician threatening to take that away.

Separation of Liberals and Conservatives
While I do not agree with talking about splitting the country, face it Neal Boortz is an entertainer. I do have to admit that I found his next major topic hilarious. Neal Boortz read a letter from a law student proposing a "separation agreement" between liberals and conservatives.

The student wrote about how each group could divide up America. For the sake of space, I will not reprint the letter. I will list some of the items that conservatives would get from the separation. Conservatives would keep "greedy" rich people, large corporations, "rednecks", gun owners, anyone earning more than $250,000 a year, just to name a few. Neal Boortz commented on how these two societies would look after a few years. One society would have all of the achievers while the other had everyone who wanted welfare. But, without the achievers, where does the money for government welfare come from?

Neal Boortz's show today covered several other topics. I did not want to produce a transcript of the show. You can get that from Neal Boortz's website. I wanted to take a couple of the key topics and recap them for you. I hope you have enjoyed this review. Please, bookmark my Associated Content profile and return to read more.
