Nearly All the Time

paul anderson

I could stand here all day like this
But I might miss it all over again
Feel like it's all been passin me by
Since I can't remember when
The endless sky where I came of age
And the permanent twist of legend
My own mind is it's own reward
So I stay there now and then
Drinkin smokin and dyin young
Just family traditions is all
Pretty sure I know where they went
Punched a hole right through the wall
Put away your questions fools
I don't know where the time has gone
I got some conclusions anyway
I just stared at them too long
Give a nickel or a penny
For every girl I ever loved
Built a fortune out of nothin'
And thought that would be enough
Now I'm headin for the sunset
Nearly all the time at least
And noone's comin with me
Just drinkin up the breeze
