The product is called Table Topper and is made by Neat Solutions a company specializing in essentials for children. The Table Topper allows parents to have a disposable placemat which they can use to place small pieces of food for baby to pick up and eat on his/her own. It can also be used to place cereal on or just as a protective barrier against germs for baby.
I found a package of 20 Table Toppers at my local toy store for just $5 in the baby care aisle. The product I purchased came in a Dora the Explorer pattern though I have been told by the company that they also are coming out with a Baby Einstein pattern (and a bio-degradable one at that) for the Table Toppers as well. The front of the Table Topper package it states: "Protects Children from Germs on Table Surfaces, Sticks in Place, Perfect for Restaurants" These three statements I found were true.
I was able to use the product on a recent trip to a restaurant with my baby. I found that the product was very easy to install on the table by peeling back two strips of plastic to reveal the sticky substance which adheres the placemat to the table. I was a bit nervous about how well the placemat would stick until I stuck it on the table. My baby immediately tried to peel the placemat off the table but, with no success. The placemat stayed in place the entire time we ate and made the perfect place for placing small bits of food for my baby to self feed. It also gave my daughter something colorful to look at while waiting for the food to come. When it came time to take the placemat off I found that the stickiness of the product was truly strong but still easy enough for me to peel off of the table after use. I did not notice any marks left on the table from the Table Topper either.
The idea behind the Table Topper and the quality makes this baby product a winner in my eyes. In fact the product was a winner of the iParenting Media Award according to the product's package. To find out more about these Table Toppers you can visit their website at www.tabletooper.com. A must have essential for parents of babies and toddlers. Me and my baby give this product two thumbs up!
