Neda Agha Soltan: Her Mom Seeks Justice for Neda's Murder

Julia Bodeeb
Neda Agha Soltan was murdered at age 26 during the election protests in Iran on June 20, 2009. She was just a young woman going about her life when she stopped to see the protests. She liked music and she had a fiancée. She had her dreams and the government of Iran stole them from her.

Neda died from a shot to the chest. It has been over a year since her death and her killer still walk free. Neda's family wants justice. They want Neda's killer to be arrested and prosecuted.

The World Will Never Forget Neda Agha Soltan

Many people in the world watched the video of Neda bleeding to death on the street in Iran. It was horrific to watch the life drain from the body of such a young woman who should have had many decades of life in front of her. Instead she is dead, a victim of the Basij who work for the government of Iran.

Did a Basij Kill Neda Agha Soltan?

It is believed a Basij riding on a motorcycle or up on a rooftop suddenly shot Neda in the heart and she very quickly bled to death. The Basij caused much violence during the "green" protests after the bogus elections in Iran. The doctor who tried to save Neda's life, Dr. Hejazi, has indicated that the crowd at the protest captured the Basij shooter and took his identification card. The shooter was not arrested and his current whereabouts are unknown.

Iran Blames the Doctor who Tried to Save Neda

Dr. Hejazi has now relocated to Britain. Iran has claimed that Dr. Hejazi was involved in the murder. This is typical of the regime that tries to destroy anyone who speaks out about the government's dishonesty and Machiavellian actions.

Neda is just one of many who lost their lives during the protests after the election. Iran's President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad rigged the election and continues on. He is an evil dictator who distorts reality and does not care about the rights of the people of Iran.

No Arrests Yet for Neda's Murder

Iran has not yet made any arrests concerning Neda's murder. Justice does not exist in Iran. The government kills innocent people and refuses to take action when citizens are murdered in protests.

Iran is a country ruled by a man who does not have any integrity. Iran is in serious need of a regime change. The protests against the elections were long lasting and vehement. The country is ready for a change, but President Ahmadinejad continues to rule Iran.

Someday Iran will have a change and a new optimism will come to the country. For now, citizens do not trust the government and they march in solidarity for a new Iran.

Merging religion with government always brings tyranny, something we in the U.S. would be well served to remember....
