Whether you're a local, or someone traveling through Gardner, Massachusetts, Marco's Pizzeria and Restaurant is a definite must stop! Whether it is for lunch or dinner, you can't beat the incredibly menu and specials.
A familiar gathering spot for most of the locals, Marc and his wife Martina Leblanc are always on spot to join in conversation. Quality control is key, in service and ingredients. Marc orders seafood from a local supplier, so it's always fresh and Martina heads up the many waitresses - who are always friendly and available for that refill on the cup of coffee.
Opened only a few years ago, Marco's Pizzeria has gradually increased their menu from pizza to include several lunch and dinner plates. Some of the popular choices have been meatloaf, Shepard's Pie, BBQ ribs and steak. Not uncommon is watching the guests bring their leftovers home, because of the huge helping served! All at a price that is incredibly affordable for those living on a budget.
Got kids who like crazy combinations? Marc can serve up what you're little angel is craving for. French fry calzone is a welcome addition to my son's personal menu.
Easy to find, this quaint corner pizza stop is at the intersection of Parker Street and Nichols street on "the main drag" of downtown Gardner. It can't be missed with the red and white checkerboard paint job on the outside. The restaurant seats approximately 45 people, and at busy times, standing room only waiting lines will appear. The wait is usually not long, and most times there is always someone willing to discuss the local current events to make your time fly by. With hours of operation from 10am to 10pm, there is plenty of time to take a load off your feet, or if you're in a hurry, grab your meal to go. Don't feel like hopping in the car? Give them a call and delivery is available.
Not only do Marc and Martina head up their restaurant, but also their hearts are close to the community. Always willing to help out a local non-profit group, sponsor events, or even help someone who might be struggling financially. Their generosity abounds.
So when you're driving around, and you spot that checkerboard, come in, kick up your shoes and enjoy the conversation, you'll be glad you did!

Post a CommentI truly wish they would take down this page! My husband and I that are spoken of in this article, sold this business over 2 years ago, and let's just say, things have changed a great deal since. We NO LONGER want our names to be associated with this business......
Yeah, it's an old article. I'm not impressed anymore either.
Just so everyone is aware, The LeBlanc's no longer operate this establishment, and it has since gone downhill badly. Just wanted to clear that up.
Mapquest says it's 80.59 miles, 1 hour 34 minutes - but honestly I'd figure over 2 hours because traffic can be a nightmare!
How close is this to Seekonk? I am staying there for a month and will need to travel.
