Neil Patrick Harris Calls Eric Braeden a D-Bag on Twitter

Jeffrey Weeks
Neil Patrick Harris took to Twitter to scold actor Eric Braeden for pulling out of a "How I Met Your Mother" episode he was set to appear in.

"Eric Braeden is a D-Bag. the actor, (Robin's dad) agreed to a cameo, then last night bailed, saying the part wasn't 'substantial' enough," Harris tweeted. "We've recast with Ray Wise, a fantastic actor who makes any part 'substantial'. Super excited to welcome him to the family!"

Eric Braeden played Robin's father on a 2008 episode of the show and was supposed to reprise his role in an upcoming episode.

Braeden is the long-running star of "The Young and the Restless" which airs on CBS and was recently renewed for three years.

Obviously Neil Patrick Harris chose to make a very public comment on what he felt was a slight by Eric Braeden.

Harris is right. Everyone knows there is no such thing as a small part, only small actors.

I think Eric Breaden has a right to pick and choose whatever part he wants to play. He should be allowed to change his mind without the name calling. After all, he is a distingquished actor and well liked. You go Eric. Your fan.

I can't even remember what Robin's dad looks like, so I guess I won't notice the change in actors.

Why would he accept the part if he thought it wasn't substantial enough?
