Neopet "Style Showdown" Shop is Now Open in the NC Mall!

If you hit the Neopets website over the past week chances are you saw the new advert for the Neopet Style Showdown. Like the Beauty Contest, it allows Neopians to have their customized pets in a contest. There are three categories so far; "Out On The Town", "Wacky and Weird", and "Ready For Adventure!". This is something that I probably won't be entering but the NC Mall does have some very interesting accessory pieces in the Style Showdown Shop.

The "On The Town Style Pack" is selling for 400 NC and contains four items: "Butterfly Dress", "Fancy Purple Cape", "Fancy Purple Hair Bow" and "VIN Velvet Ropes". You can also purchase these items separately for a reasonable fee: "Butterfly Dress" (175 NC), "Fancy Purple Cape" (75 NC), "Fancy Purple Hair Bow" (75 NC) however the "VIN Velvet Ropes" are not listed as being sold individually. (VIN = Very Important Neopet)

Those wanting to add a little bit of gothic style to their Neopet should check out the "Dark Princess Gown" (200 NC), "Whimsical Gothic Dress" (150 NC) and the "Dark Princess Shoes" (100 NC) but personally I think the "Twinkling Pink Tiara" is the best deal for 100 NC. Guys can top things off with a "Black Fedora" for 150 NC or get a little silly with the "Sparkling Crimson Slippers" or the "Black Satin Bow Tie" (50 NC). While not really a gothic item, the "Rose Petal Wings" (150 NC) are pretty cool!

If you are a fan of the other stained glass items then these three will surely strike your fancy! "Stained Glass Dress" (150 NC), "Stained Glass Wings" (150 NC) and "Stained Glass Earrings" (100 NC) You might also want to try on the "Lavender Chandelier Earrings" for a measly 50 NC or the very cool "Sassy Red Wig" (150 NC). Personally I wouldn't put my Neopet in a "Frilly Neovian Shirt" for 150 NC but I wouldn't mind getting my Mutant Poogle a "Spiffy Black Leather Jacket" for 150 NC.

You can also try on these items to see if you like the way that they look on your pet before you purchase them: "Fancy Blouse" (150 NC), "Elegant Feather Dress" (200 NC), "Elegant Black Feather Hat" (150 NC), "Butterfly Dress" (175 NC) and the very cool accessory piece "Beautiful Beaded Purse" (150 NC). You can also get "Elegant Feather Gloves" (100 NC), "Magenta Striped Trousers" (150 NC), "Elegant Gold Necklace" (100 NC), "Sparkling Faerie Dress" (200 NC)

Lastly, there are two new backgrounds that you can get at the NC Mall, "Black and White Hall Background" (200 NC) and the "Summer Fireworks Background" (200 NC). The Summer Fireworks looks great with any Neopet and the color bursts add a nice bit of animation if you don't already have something like that equipped.

The Style Showdown is not the same as the Beauty Contest; the Beauty Contest is for drawings of Neopets, not customized Neopets.
