Neopets 2010 Advent Calendar Day Ten: I Never Heard Esophagor Laugh Until Today

With the first ten days of the Advent Calendar we've seen some pretty interesting gifts but today it was all about Esophagor. I was really hoping that from the animated front page we would get a cupcake or slice of cake but getting 522 Neopoints, a "Holiday Esophagor Plushie" and "Candy Keys" wasn't all that bad. One baffling thing, "Candy Keys" are not showing up with a classification. Usually when you do a lookup on an item it shows you what it is. The only thing is says next to it in my Safety Deposit Box is "none". It doesn't show that you can feed it to your pet but something tells me that it will go from having no classification to having 'something' in the near future.

Yesterday the Neopet News made mention of the "Imposter Apple" being associated with an avatar. I tried to feed one to PoisonGirl_666 but she snubbed her nose at it. Then I tried another pet and got this message: "vVv_Vixxxen_vVv says 'Yes, yes, I want another Imposter Apple, pleeeease!'" but no pop up notification of an avatar being awarded. That's when I found out that you need to win one of the "Imposter Apple" from Apple Bobbing. This was first introduced during the Halloween promotion but was later added as a daily event. My active pet got sick and I am way too cheap to pay 10K or more for the cure that may or may not work the first time around.

If you have been following the Faeries' Ruin plot you will have noticed that there is another step to complete to add to your Fearless Deeds page. I have just about given up on the plot as it has dragged out so long and put such a damper on the site. Sales are down, there are no quests, restocking is pointless and all of Faerieland is still off limits because the faeries were all turned to stone. This was fun the first couple of weeks but this has been dragging on for a long time. We managed to get two or three days into the Faerie Festival and then this plot came out of nowhere. Everyone said it wouldn't last long and that it would certainly be over before Halloween. We are now ten days in to December and it is still active. It's slowing down other aspects of the site like Key Quest and at this point if you haven't kept up with the plot and steps, joining in now is sort of pointless.
