Neopets Spookiest Foods: Are You Brave Enough to Sample Them All?

Some of My All Time Favorite Spooky Foods of Neopets

Miss Fortune
If you are a fan of the darker side of Neopets then you are surely aware of the gross, spooky, haunted and creepy food items that can be purchased, awarded or found around the site. My Spooky Gallery has some of the rarest of spooky items but no matter how much I spend trying to complete it, there are always other items to that need to be sought out and purchased. Here's my list of some of the best spooky foods at Neopets!

Some of the most common and easily around Spooky Foods at Neopets include "Pumpkin Pie", "Pumpkin Cookies", "Mashed Eye Potato", "Clawmatoe", "Eye Candy", "Bat Cookie", "Blumaroo Steak", "Candy Peas", "Spooky Doughnut", "Mummy Spaghetti", "Almost Gummy Rat (Grape)", "Almost Gummy Rat (Strawberry)", "Tongue With Veggies" and "Sun Dried Techo Claw". It's almost a carved in stone guarantee that these items will rise in price when Halloween rolls around. Some of these items are given away at the Test Your Strength game and others are given out as random food events but they are all worth stocking up on for resale at a later time.

There are some items that you really have to be careful about when buying the pricing. The "Ghost Marshmallows" are not the same as the "Magic Ghost Marshmallows"; there is a huge price difference between them. The same goes or the three flavors of "Almost Gummy Rat"; the Lime is a lot more than the Grape or Strawberry. You also have to be careful with the "Ghostkersandwich"' the Cheese and Cress have a higher value than the Chokato and Slime. The "Spooky Doughnut" is completely different from the "Spooky Flying Doughnut" and it took me forever to find a buyable one at the site. Couple that with the act that there is a "Spooky Doughnut TCG" and things can get even more confusing.

If you are into collecting spooky food just for their looks then there are some that you are definitely not going to want to pass up. Some of my personal favorites include the "Brain Tree Muffin", "Spook Jelly Brains", "Jelly Spider Eyeball", "Pink Spooky Popcorn", "Mummified Negg" and "Candy Skull". Some of these are hard to find at the site so make sure that you check the Shop Wizard and the Trading Post. The "Crypt of Spaghetti" and "Mound of Grulb" are some things that you can win from the Test Your Strength game but they are things that can be traded or sold so if you can't win one, you can still get one if you are willing to pay the price.

One thing that you will notice is that there are a lot of spooky foods that have a high rarity rating because they are considered a gourmet food. If you feed your pet one of these items they can earn points towards the Gourmet Food Club. Some of them include the "Ghost Puff", "Spooky Flying Doughnut", "Halloween Candy Cane", "Deviled Eggs", "Rest In Peace of Chicken", "Parts On A Pizza", "Pumpkin Scoopings" and "Pink Spooky Popcorn". That is just a partial list of Gourmet items in the Spooky Food line up.

The are some food items that aren't classified as Spooky Foods but they certainly are creepy. Some of them include "Eyeball" (retired), all of the Gummy Slorg flavors, "Evil Blancmange", "Gingerbread Korbat", "Strawberry Vampire Pop", "Mega Minty Korbat Cake", "Ants On Ants', "Eyeballberry", "Korbat Grave Cake", "Korbat Mooncake", "Mint Chocolate Spike Ball Candy", "Voidberry Faerie Bubble" and the "Haunted Woods Chocolate Milk Glass". And don't forget the things that are classified as Gross Foods like "Eyeball Pie", "Pasta And Eyes", "Black Widow Truffle", "Mayo-Doused Batter-Fried Grackle Bugs with Honey Walnuts", "Stuffed Frog", "Eyeball Fungus" and "Finger Crisps".

If I had to pick out my all time favorites they would have to be the delectably creepy "Spider Liquorice" even though I hate spiders! "Peanut Butter Spiders" are another arachnid treat to stock up on when the prices are low as they are great sellers when Halloween rolls around. I searched for the "Spoooky Muffin" for the better part of a week and couldn't find any at the site because I was typing the name into the Shop Wizard the wrong way. Remember there are three "O"s not two. Another spooky looking items is the "Menacing Brew"

Where can you buy Spooky Food? I you go to the Haunted Woods you can shop at the Spooky Food shop or to get to it quicker just bookmark it so you don't have to go through the Deserted Fairgrounds to get to it. The Cork Gun Gallery gives away some strange boxed foods but nothing that I would personally consider spooky by any stretch of the imagination. There are tons of creepy, scary, gross and haunted foods to be had at the site and it is a lot of fun trying to collect them all. If you are into the theme then start a gallery and your own quest to collect all the scary food items that Neopets has to offer!

My kids don't play with these or go to the website, but judging from your articles, they have just about everything in the Neopets world, don't they? Great write-up, as always. :-)
