Neosporin: a Must for Winter Lips

Protect Your Lips, Neosporin Lip Treatment

Susan Antonelli
Every winter my grandchildren would have this red rough area above their upper lips. I would get school photos that were unusable because of this crazy rd rough patch. It was from the cold and I think also from the runny nose that they would lick when it dripped too far (lovely isn't it).I would buy them chapstick and suggest Vaseline to my d i l then I found out about Neosporin LT Lip Treatment. Of course, I tried it first ,with great results.

The tube is tiny with a screw cap and tends to disappear, literally. It comes in a little bright yellow and navy package. I carry a large purse so half the time I can't find it because of that and other times it just seems to wander off. My daughter in law had the same problem.Hubby loses his constantly.

It smelled nasty, very medicinal but in a way this was comforting I figured with this kind of smell it wasn't a fruity temporary fix it was serious stuff. The kids weren't convinced. My daughter in law had to sneak it on them in the wee hours before they got up to go to school. I think it has a lime scent. I used to put it on the children when they were sleeping.

I spend half the year in Florida and find this excellent for wind burned lips and the applicator is slanted for easy lip application.

It's designed to relieve the painful symptoms of cold sores and severely dry, chapped lips. Neosporin Lip Treatment provides moisturization and has a medically recognized lip protectent according to the package information. The ingredients, Allantoin (moisturizes and protect lips) and Pramoxine ( relieves the pain of cracked lips or cold sores). Moisture from lips evaporates faster than from skin.

Hubby gets cold sores and has always used regular Neosporin now he has added the Neosporin Lip Treatment to his treatment. He also has had to buy several because he misplaces the tiny tube.

According to the site:This is no ordinary lip balm. NEOSPORIN LTĀ® Lip Treatment has a maximum strength pain reliever to relieve the painful symptoms of cold sores and severely dry, chapped lips. It has a medically recognized lip protectant to moisturize and reduce cracking. So, It's excellent for chapped lips and for cold sores, it focuses on the symptoms.

When treating chapped lips, consumers usually apply lip care products twice a day or more often (92%). Hubby and I apply it quite a bit more frequently. 75% of consumers prefer an ointment product while 15% prefer a cream to treat symptoms of cold sores. These are just some facts the site offers. When promoting a product quite a bit of study goes in to the product before they put it out there for the public. I saw a program about studies like this researching the marketing of ice cream. Everything from the packaging to the product gets tested, researched and examined thoroughly for marketability, quality, and commercial selling ability. It was amazing.

You can purchase Neosporin Lip Treatment online at Drugstore.com or at any pharmacy, Target, Wal Mart or K Mart as well as at the large grocery stores.
