Neptune's Curse

T.S. Garp
The storm came powerful in the night
An ungodly wind sent forth from turmoil of Nott
It took us by surprise and shattered our flight
Casting doom upon our wondering wayward lot

Murky, dark-dreaded were they, thunderous clouds
Sirens singing a hiss of promise and gloom
Lightening silver-blue, blinding and screaming aloud
Serpents waiting underneath and striking with a boom

Neptune's curse set in motions
On lost souls who will not be found
Navigation was hindered by terrifying emotions
Massive waves come crashing down

Clashing wooden ships in a horrific sound
Sending many a man to Davy Jones' locker
Coral and reef, ancient ghosts chanting and echoing words to drown
Falling under, to a cold, death of water.

Terrible sea creatures of the depth
Serpents, kraken, hunting without rest
Murky, ancient doom, and blunder
Hideous bone crushing jaws of thunder

Down deep I go, wayward lost, pity soul
Some thing took hold of my misfortune,
Hands strong and soft, diverted me aloft
Pulling me up to breath again in such commotion

Hair of fire and eyes so blue
Once wicket creature of delight
She was the siren that held me true
Gives me life again anew in swirling seas of fright

This kind of reminds me of scene in Tolstoy describing a drowning sailor as he descends into the dark depths of the sea. Cool poem!

Alittle bit of Poe and a little bit of Crane. Good imagery.
