N*E*R*D: Seeing Sounds is a Strong Follow-Up to Fly or Die

The Reviewer
N*E*R*D is the brain child of Neptunes members Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, along with childhood friend Shay Haley. The group has released two gold albums and is poised for even greater success on its latest album, Seeing Sounds. Will Seeing Sounds be able to live up to the success of In Search Of...and Fly Or Die?

The first single off of Seeing Sounds is Everybody Nose (All The Girls Standing In The Line For The Bathroom). The song definitely has a jazz vibe to it. The song starts with Pharrell rapping but later on in the track he switches up to singing. The song is definitely very different than other songs out currently. The highlight of the track is definitely the bridge which is incredible. The rest of the song is just slightly above average.

Spaz has the same jazz elements of Everybody Nose. The song is definitely different than what is out on the market now. However the song just is not that catchy and well put together.

Love Bomb might be one of the most unique and different songs on the album. The song sounds vintage 1960 and has a very powerful message. The song is also very easy on the ears.

You Know What sounds how Michael Jackson would sound if Off The Wall came out in 2008. The song is a solid mid-tempo track that is catchy, well produced and written.

Kill Joy is a frantic up-tempo track that is just a pure energy rush. The track is fairly catchy and is very different.

Happy is another 1960's sounding song however it is slightly more modern than Love Bomb. The song is interesting and well put together.

Someday I'll Laugh About It is another Michael Jackson Off The Wall era sounding track. The song is fairly catchy although not the strongest track on the album.

Anti Matter is an interesting sounding track. However the song just will not appeal to all audiences.

Sooner Or Later follows in the same vein of Love Bomb and Happy however it is more of a ballad than the other two songs.

Yeah You is another vintage sounding song however it is in a very different vibe than the other songs on the album. The song has elements of mid 1970's R&B.

Seeing Sounds covers so many different genres and reaches so many different audiences it is hard to categorize. N*E*R*D definitely show it is stronger in some elements than others. However, Seeing Sounds is a solid follow up to Fly Or Die. Overall, Seeing Sounds gets 8 out of 10. If you are a fan of N*E*R*D make sure you pick up Seeing Sounds.
