Nescafe, Rock 'N' Roll Iced Coffee Recipe

Early Rahmer
Back in the 1950s, I have read, Nescafe caught on big in America, because young folks spent a lot of time in coffee houses reading poetry by The Beats and discovering Rock 'N' Roll (among other things).

Back in 2005, in pre-Katrina New Orleans, my buddy Robert bestowed upon me his (now) famous iced coffee recipe. (I might add that this iced coffee recipe came to be in the mornings after many a Svedka challenge in the evening hours.)

1) obtain a separate ceramic cup (must be able to withstand heat; you will not be drinking from this cup;

2) spoon out some Nescafe coffee and sugar in your ceramic cup, mixing the dry grains of coffee and sugar with your spoon (alternatively, you can substitute *honey for sugar in step #7)

4) boil water in a teapot (and I mean, boil it!)

5) while the water is boiling, fill a rocks glass with ice (determine for yourself through trial and error which form of ice you prefer)

6) only when the teapot whistles and the water is boiling, then pour the boiling water in the coffee-filled mug (don't fill it up too far; you may want to add cream)

7) mix the coffee and boiling water swiftly for 5-10 seconds; *add honey; mix again;

8) pour the (very) hot contents over the ice in your rocks glass;

9) quickly add a smidgeon of cream;

10) do not stir in the cream; instead jiggle the glass to enable the contents to mix and for the coffee to chill;

Congratulations! Enjoy your new iced coffee recipe!

Get wired. Rock out. Focus, dudes!
