Nessy Tales - Great for Homeschool

Jasmine Starr
Nessy Tales is a wonderful book that you can download on your computer. Then the child can follow along while the book is being read to him or her. The book is very colorful and funny. This is great for homeschool children. I have a child that doesn't like to read. Being a homeschool mom that is very frustrating. But I have found that he likes to read books like these.

The child can follow along with the book as it is read or you can turn the sound off and the child can read the book. When the book is being read the words will turn dark brown as the person is reading them. This is really cool because the child can see the word that is being read.

Nessy Tales is great for homeschool. I wish I could find a lot of books like this one. Inside the Nessy Tales book are other stories. Only one is free and that is the muggings story. When you open the Nessy Tales program the interface will load. Click the Enter button to continue on. Next, it will take you to a Library. In the Library you will see different books on the shelves. You will see the Nessy Tales book dancing around. Click on that book.

Once you click the book in the library, it will open up. Then you will see the different stories. Muggins is the free book. Click on Muggins and the story will begin. Make sure that you have your speakers on. After the page is read, you can click the Play button on the other side and watch the short movie.

You can visit the Nessy Tales website to purchase the other books. I haven't purchased any of the other ones but I'm thinking about getting them. You can also get worksheets from their website that goes along with the stories.

They offer rhyming word activities, secret language activities, and more. You can click on the supporting links for each story and see the worksheets that are available. The worksheets will open in adobe and you can print them out from their.

Nessy Tales can be downloaded from their website at nessytales.co.uk. The program is fairly small in size. So it doesn't take up much room on your computer. I think you will really enjoy this book for your child or children. This book is really great for children who don't like to read or are learning to read. The words in the Muggins story are fairly easy.

This book has great graphics and great animations. I think that will hold the child's attention. The little short movies will also hold their attention.

There are a number of read along books with animated illustrationas and click on a word to hear it spoken for emerging readers at http://www.wizz-e.com. They can also be downloaded to a PC for ease of access.

Great suggestion! We'll check that out. We use starfall.com. It's great, but the downside to that is that you can't just download it. You actually have to go to the website each time. Nessy Tales sounds more convenient.
