First of all Nestea's Red Tea Pomegranate & Passion Fruit is delicious, that cannot be debated. Naturally caffeine free and with only 50 calories per serving this tea seems like a healthy beverage. And without actually reading the ingredients, the front label would lead you to believe that indeed it is. With a label like "all natural flavors" how could you go wrong? But this type of misleading advertising is exactly what is making America fat. Yes Nestea's Red Tea contains antioxidants and very low sodium but the number one ingredient... high fructose corn syrup. Only to be seconded by the natural red tea from concentrate that you thought you were drinking.
How does this artificial, highly processed, liquid sugar make its way into nearly all of the products on our grocery shelves? The label is what gets me, "all natural flavors". Flavors should be stressed instead of leading the unintelligible public to believe they are drinking something that is good for them instead of processed garbage. I am outraged! High fructose corn syrup is the NUMBER ONE ingredient. Read the labels and trust no one.
