You can find them at most grocery stores, but I discovered them at Fry's Grocery Store. The price was 1 lb. of Nestle Toll House Turtle cookies for 3.69. Inside the package each cookie bar is pre-scored for easier separation. You place them 3 inches apart on a ungreased baking pan and bake at 325 for 17-21 minutes. You take them out when they are a golden brown and the chocolate chips are starting to melt. There are pecans sprinkled over the top of them and gooey caramel in the middle of each one.
Each Nestle Toll House Ultimates Turtle cookie has 9g of fat, 15 mg of cholesterol, 140 mg of sodium, 23g of carbohydrate, 1g of fiber, 15g of sugar and 1g of protein. At least they don't contain any trans fat, that is always a plus. These may not be the healthiest food in the world but personal research shows they are an excellent mood enhancer. There is something about the smell of fresh baked cookies coming out of the oven that always manages to give me a lift.
Nestle Toll House Ultimates also makes these cookie dough bars in chocolate chip lovers, white chocolate macadamia nut, peanut butter cups, chips and chocolate chunks and chocolate chips and chunks with pecans. On the package of cookies Nestle recommends visiting verybestbaking.com for recipes using their cookie dough. On the website there are some fun ideas. You can use the cookies to make a cookie fruit cobbler, cookies on a stick, berry cookie cups, heart shaped cookies and a cookie ice cream sandwich. The cookies are delicious just as they are, but I like the suggestions anyway. I actually purchased some cookie dough blue bunny ice cream and tried out the ice cream sandwich suggestion. All you do is just sandwich ice cream between two cookies. The ice cream sandwiches make a really good dessert.
This cookie dough can also be frozen for up to 2 months before baking if you want to stock up on supplies. You can actually put them in the oven straight out of the freezer by just adding 1-2 minutes onto the bake time.
