Nestor's Collection, Part 2

Nestor Botero
Time Won't Last

Do you hear dogs barking far away,

Or maybe birds chirping during the day,

Or maybe kids playing along the way,

Or your thoughts trying to say,

Life is a gift that was given to us,

Not something that is solely just,

To waste away trying your best,

Day and night never to rest,

So just slow down,

Look around,

There's more to life than only that,

While the sun's rising,

And minutes are dying,

Focus on your senses and where you're at,

Just slow down,

Don't walk so fast,

There's more around,

These minutes don't last,

Listen to the breeze and kids having fun,

Try to relax before work is done,

Just take it slow,

You've no place to go,

Life's wasted in minutes,

Until realized what's in it,

So slow down,

Don't walk so fast,

Before it's over,

And your life has passed...

True Friend

I know some people and we laugh a lot,

Like a small ethnic melting pot,

3 Hispanic,

3 that are white,

Some speak Spanish,

Some shine in the light,

And they are all friends,

And we never pretend,

But we never speak true,

All that is new,

All of our troubles,

Just out of the blue,

That takes a true friend,

To bring up that blend,

One that you love,

Sent from above,

I have a friend who is like that,

And I'll always know where she's found at,

Because those friends stay in our hearts,

Everyone of those friends are work of arts,

Molded and sculpted to keep forever,

Because true friends stick together,

We love those friends,

They love us too,

Until the ends,

Our love is true...
