Features
This small, compact cellphone is entirely black and is tiny enough to fit in the center of your hand. It has a wee-little screen, which isn't bad for glancing at the time, but can be a bit bothersome when texting. The LG300G is preloaded with 32 polyphonic ringtones; unfortunately, it doesn't support normal mp3 audio files. There is also a vibration mode. The phonebook feature can hold a large number of contacts-up to 500, which is larger than many phones in this price range.
Basic call features include voicemail, which can be accessed via the message menu, and call-waiting. You can send and receive text messages with the LG 300G, but cannot send or receive any multi-media messages (MMS). The rate for texting is $0.05, which is higher than the rate for their slider phones, but lower than the standard talk rate.
The Net 10 logo, which is fairly large and blocky, is stamped directly underneath the screen, and is a bit of an eyesore. The keys, while rubbery to prevent slipping, are small and a bit hard to press. There is a very slight delay between pressing a button and having the number appear onscreen.
Conclusion
The LG 300G is a decent cellphone, and the 300 minutes of included talk time are a nice perk. Though the features are pretty basic, you'll find the phone reliable (at least in terms of build-quality), and most people don't need extra feature anyway. Overall, I think if you only need to make phone calls, send text messages, and to maybe use the phone as an alarm clock, then the LG 300G will work. Otherwise, consider spending $50 more for better features (camera, etc.).
