Neutrogena Clinical Facial Lifting Wrinkle Treatment SPF 30: Week One

Part 1 of 4

Susan Slade
A fellow writer contacted me to let me know that Neutrogena Clinical were offering their product for free. You purchase it between 7/11/2010 and 7/18/2010, submit it by the 31st, and receive a rebate for the full value of your purchase.

I downloaded the paperwork first, just to make sure that I would qualify. So I headed to Walgreen's drugstore and found it for $34.99 + tax. It will take 6 to 8 weeks for my rebate to arrive, so I am willing to wait.

I have a box with 2 products in it. The Gel Serum net weight 0.5 fluid ounce (14 ml), and the SPF 30 Activating Cream 0.5 fluid ounce (14 ml).

I read all the information on the box, and it states that it is:

"Clinically proven skincare that visibly smoothes wrinkles and firms for a resilient, youthful look.

When combined, ion2 complex is activated by the moisturizer, releasing essential ion-mineral conductors that create a positive electric micro-current."

I took the gray tube of Neutrogena ion2 complex gel serum out, and then the silver gray spray can of Neutrogena day activating cream. There is also a clear gray colored plastic stand for these 2 products to stand in.

I washed my face and was ready to use the facial lifting wrinkle treatment. I was to apply the serum first. It says that the first squeeze might be clear, so continue until the gray appears. This should be about the size of a dime.

When I rubbed it into my skin it felt like talcum powder. There was no grit in it, but more like a dusting powder. It then states to use the SPF 30 activating cream, and again use about a dime size amount.

This cream has a very pleasant smell to it, and it was thick, and rubbed in easily.

I took a photograph of the first day, because on the box it states:

"Immediately. After only a single use, skin feels softer and smoother.

After 1 week lifts the look of sagging skin. Evens skin tone and minimizes the signs of discoloration. Reduces the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles. Improves the look of facial contours and definition."

So the second photograph is day seven.

I have religiously performed the 2 functions each morning, as per the instructions on the box, and after one week I don't see any difference.

My skin doesn't feel as soft as normal. A couple of times my face has looked red, and I noticed in the photographs that instead of my Florida tanned face, it looks slightly red. At this stage I have no opinion of this product.

It states to use it daily, so I have been applying both the serum and the activating cream, each morning. I have not been using any other anti-wrinkle/anti-aging products at the same time. I am just using a moisturizer at night, that is a basic one, because my skin is dry..

The chart gives the week 1, 2, and 4 results. However, I will write a 4 part series, giving a week by week account, and photographs, to go with it.

Well you got it for free, so not a waste of money :) Every scientific study shows these creams don't work. I can honestly say I've never bought one and never will, LOL. Good review on the product though.
