Neutrogena Comforting Butter Body Wash Review

Pam Gaulin
The Neutrogena Comforting Butter Body Wash is a luxurious, aromatic treat that is perfect for a night time shower or bath. It is creamy and moisturizing, and it's a a great drugstore alternative to more expensive brands of body wash sold at specialty stores.

The Scent

It took me more than one tube of Neutrogena Comforting Butter Body to discern the scent. I knew I liked it. I knew I was comforted by it, but what was it exactly? Have you ever made homemade Rice Krispy squares with real butter? When you get to the point in the recipe when all of the butter is melted, and then you pour in your marshmallows, you are getting close to the scent ofthis moisturizing soap.

When those marshmallows are half way between being full and fluffy, and their melted state, and they start to mix with the warm melted butter, that is the scent that matches the Neutrogena Comforting Butter

Moisturizing Factor

The Neutrogena Comforting Butter Body Wash can help even dry winter skin and dry patches. After only a few uses, my skin was definitely smoother and less dry.

Neutrogena Comforting Butter Body Wash Lather Factor

Sometimes the trade off with a creamy soap is a lack of lather. While the Neutrogena Comforting Butter Body Wash does lather like traditional soap, it does make a pleasant amount of creamy lather. One advantage to this creamy lather is that you can use it for shaving. Why ruin the lush scent of this creamy body wash with shave cream, when you can use this for shaving too.

Ingredients

One of the reasons I love to try new products by this company is that I know they are tested by dermatologists and my sensitive skin has never once reacted negatively to the ingredients in their products.

The moisturizing body wash contains a mix of cocoa butter, mango seed butter provides rich moisture and Shea butter. Even with this many creamy butters, your skin manages to feel moisturized and not greasy.

The moisturizing wash also contains the following ingredients: water, sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Cocamide MEA, Divinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, C12-13 Pareth 3, C12-13 Pareth 23, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Guar Gum, citric acid, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, methylparaben, Yellow 6, Yellow 5 and fragrance.

Drawbacks

This liquid soap is more expensive than regular liquid soap. It is also easy to go through it quickly, since it smells so good.

Price

A 6.7 ounce tube of the Neutrogena Comforting Butter Body Wash retails for around $7.

I hope it comes in a lotion, too! I like to use matching shower gels and lotion. Unless it is so good you don't need to put on lotion?
