Neutrogena Deep Clean Long Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask

Product Review

Missy H.
I recently purchased the new Deep Clean Long Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask by Neutrogena and was fairly satisfied. I can not recall exactly what I had to pay for this product but I do recall it costing somewhere between $5.00 and $7.00 at my local Neighborhood Wal-mart. It is only a six ounce tube, though, so I was not overwhelmed with enthusiasm.

I bought this product, mainly because of the fact that not only is it a face cleanser but you can also use it as a face mask. I do not see a whole lot of facial masks any more, only cleansers. Sometimes, I wonder if I am just not looking in the right place or if facial masks are just becoming extinct with all those cleansers that are out there. I have nothing against face cleanser products, as they are actually quicker and easier to use than waiting out the advised time a mask should be on your face. However, I always like the idea of a facial mask, because it gets your face that much cleaner. It also makes me feel like I am at a slumber party, which, admittedly, is always fun no matter how old you are.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Long Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask has rice protein, which, the description on the back of the tube states "acts like a micro sponge to continue absorbing excess oil". This is a good added bonus to ensure that your face is clean. The directions say to use it as a daily cleanser and then a 3 minute mask one to two times a week. Being just a six ounce tube, I would of course want it to last a while, so I would just as soon use simple soap and water to wash my face daily, and then use this product as a mask, maybe once a week, or or use it as a cleanser a few days a week, soap and water the rest of the days, and use as a mask once a week.

It promises to control shine, making your face "shine free for hours". Used as a mask, it is supposed to dry for three minutes, but I left it a little longer and it did not get too dry and cakey on my face like other face masks can if left too long. I hope this review with my opinion has been descriptive enough to benefit anyone wanting to know if they should buy this product.
