Neutrogena Sunblock Review

For residents of Southern California, sun block is a year-round expense. With a multitude of choices, however, making a selection can be overwhelming. When I shop for sun block, three factors come to mind - SPF, type of application and price.

Recently, I tried a new product - Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock with SPF 70. Its spray-on application is convenient and makes self-application trouble-free. Its reasonable price - listed at $8.99 on Drugstore.com - helped convince me to try it.

The canister notes that this Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock contains helioplex - an ingredient that helps block out "broad spectrum UVA UVB" rays.

Other claims this product makes are:

· Weightless

· Clean Feel

· Ultra-light Mist

· Non-greasy

· Waterproof, sweatproof, resists running into eyes

· #1 Dermatologist Recommended Suncare

· Non-comedogenic (won't clog pores)

· One touch continuous spray works at any angle

· Oil Free

· PABA Free

The first thing I did when I took the product home was to apply it to my 6-year-old son. I thought it would be easier to have a spray-on sun block for my children. However, he complained that the product made his skin sting. I did try it on my 8-year-old and she had no complaints.

While this product does not claim to be intended for children, it does not warn not to use it on them either - except for to obtain advice of a doctor in order to use it on children under 6- months-old. It is possible that my son's skin is too sensitive for this product.

When I put it on my own skin, I was very happy with the results. It took less than a minute to apply it to my arms and back. The spray easily reached areas that I could not reach when self-applying lotion type sun block.

Additionally, at an all-day outdoor event where I was the only one using this Neutrogena product, my skin did not burn while both of my kids came home with red skin - even with re-application of the lotion sun block I used on them.

While my own skin is sensitive, I have had no problems with break-outs from using this product. Furthermore, with nearly daily use on my arms and back, my canister has lasted for approximately six weeks so far.

If the number of sun block choices are overwhelming to you, next time you buy sun block try Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock with SPF 70. Chances are, you will be happy that you did.
