Neutrogena Wave Duo Review

Is it Worth the Money?

For Mother's Day this year, I received the Neutrogena Wave, a facial care product I'd be dying to try. For the past two months, I have used this product religiously, and for others who may be considering purchasing this product, I thought I would share my experiences. For those of you who are unaware of what the product is, it's a facial cleanser that comes with pads. It vibrates to remove dirt and oil from the skin while also exfoliating. It'll cost you about $12 at your local Wal-Mart, plus around $7 for a package of replacement pads.

It comes with a few pads when you buy it though, so it's enough to get you started for about a week. I think it's a bit expensive for replacements, but others may not think so. There are two different kinds of pads, regular, and those with beads for increased exfoliation. I have used both and recommend the beads. The regular ones come with the product.

I was impressed with the fact that it had two speeds. I love the smell of the cleanser, and how easy it is to use. Since I have been using it, I still have blackheads, but then again, I don't believe this is supposed to be like the Clean and Clear Blackhead eraser. I am happy to report though, I do have much less acne than before.

Immediately after using the first pad, I realized I didn't like the setup of the cleanser, because it left cotton from the pad on the head, which makes it difficult for future pads to stick to the surface. When I purchased my replacement pads, I realized it comes with a replacement head, which pops off with ease. The major design flaw that almost made me regret choosing the product was solved!

To use the Neutrogena Wave, all you need to do is place a pad on the head, apply a little water, turn it on and rub on your face. It comes with AA batteries, which will eventually need to be replaced. For best results, wash your face with a gentle cleanser before using the device. After you use it, rinse your face and pat dry with a clean towel.

Overall, I'm pleased with the product. It cleans and exfoliates just like it says it will. I am disappointed by the fact that it apparently does nothing to help with the blackheads, but I'll continue using cleansing strips designed for that purpose. In the end, by writing this review, I'm recommending the product to others.

I bought the Neutrogena Wave Duo, in addition to the Neutrogena 3-in-1 hydrating acne treatment. I used the device and, after a few days, felt like my larger pores were getting smaller and clearer. However, my skin also felt oilier, and now, I have a few areas on my face, notably at the corners of my eyes and mouth, where the skin is dry, flaky, red and scaly. I don't know if it's the Wave Duo or the 3-in-1 or if it's the winter in addition or what ... but it is possible that this device could create dry skin and leave you with red, flaky areas of skin. Use sparingly at first to see how it works on you.

Even though I've only been using the Wave Duo for a few days, I would have to say that it really does feel effective! I had a lot of blackheads on my nose that seem to go away with just a couple uses. Also, my skin feels tighter and really smooth, even after one use. I haven't experienced the longterm effects yet, but I'm hoping those are as good as the ones I'm experiencing now!
