Never Would You Know

Lisa Stanley

I fall into your waiting arms

You grasp me hard and securely

You whisper you love me and want me

For always

I smile to you

Allowing you to see

What only flesh can give you

Not what desires my mind conceals

You touch me

And I close my eyes

To change your face and name

Detaching myself, mind and body

Seeking out the vision

Of the one who has my heart

Pleasing you without my mind

And never would you know

I open my eyes to the reality

Of what I really have

I cry myself to sleep

Lost in a tangled deception

And never would you know
