New AC Writer Spotlight: Jay Kolo

A Voice that Must Be Heard

Hope and Inspiration

I recently came across a new writer on AC who has a bounty of positive hope and inspiration to share. I came across a poem posted by Jay, and I did a little research. After visiting his website, and listening to his radio show, I was moved deeply. I usually don't go around promoting people, but his story hits close to home. I felt as if I had to share this treasure I found with you. His journey will hit close to home with anyone who has ever been affected by alcoholism, whether it is a family member or loved one. He gently reminds us that we all have a they ability to overcome through the power of prayer.

The author I am writing about is Jay Kohlo. Jay Kolo considers himself a 'sober alcoholic'. He now lives in Florida with his wife and two children. He now has a stable life he could not even imagine living when he was deep entangled in the life of alcoholism. The poem "My Full-Time Job" is look into the day to day life of an alcoholic. It's not a light hearted read, but very eye opening, and touching.

Although Jay Kolo is new to Associated Content, he is not new to writing. He has written four books, The Terminal Game (March 2004), Knee Deep In Prayer (March 2005), House On Paddock Lane (June 2005), Knee Deep II- (Stages Of Destruction) (May 2006) There are two more in the works, you can read more on Jay's website, JourneywithJay.net. He also has a radio show called "Morning Remorse" that airs every Sunday 6pm eastern time, which can be heard at BlogTalkRadio.

Jay speaks eloquently and honestly about his experiences. He gives insight and hope. His message is simple yet profound. He reminds us of the power of prayer. Yet, he does not preach. His experiences, stories and down to earth wisdom are bound to help many fighting the disease of alcoholism, or any other addiction.

The path to sobriety began on August 10th, 1995, when Jay took his last drink. Jay says he has developed "coping muscles" as a defense against taking a drink. What saved him was prayer. He explains that prayer is a simple and readily available tool. This inspiring man talks about his life, the good parts, the bad parts, and the ugly parts with great insight.

Whether you have a friend or family member who is suffering from alcoholism (or other addiction); if you or your family has been affected by this disease; or if you want to see the power of prayer in action; be sure to visit Jay's website JourneywithJay.net. Be ready to be inspired.
