What happens when you take the premier acai blend and add plant sterols? You get the new Pulse product that came out September 26, 2008. The original blend of 19 fruits has 10 new fruits and 9 of the same. The ingredients include acai, concord grape, pineapple, apple, prickly pear, pomegranate, elderberry, yumberry, bilberry, blackberry, blueberry, cherry, cranberry, raspberry, aronia, acerola, strawberry, cupuacu and camu camu. Pulse is intended for men and women ages 30 and up who want to maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The daily consumption of foods containing 0.8 grams per serving of plant sterol esters may reduce the risk of heart disease as part of a diet low in cholesterol and saturated fat. Four ounces of Pulse supplies the 0.8 grams of plant sterols. Personally I found the drink to be sweeter and better tasting than the original blend. It has a cherry strawberry taste with chocolate overtones.
