New Age Perspective on the Afterlife

Where Do We Go from Here?

Kevin Lamb
Where do we go when we leave this world? This is a question that most people ponder in their minds almost every day who believe in an afterlife. Do we go to heaven, or do we go to hell? Or better yet, do we get to pick where we go? The answer to this question depends on what you believe.

After twenty years of metaphysical and spiritual studies here are some of the findings which I have come up with. These findings are based by studies on: Edgar Cayce, Max Freedom Long, and Carl Jung just to mention a few. These are some of the concepts which I have based my beliefs on.

Evolution of the Soul

I believe the next life depends on what you did in this life. The continuation and growth of our soul depends on what our "higher self" decides which path we will take when we leave this dimension. The higher self is a part of us which resides in the afterlife, and when our "middle self" (which is the conscious mind on Earth) passes from this dimension we merge with the higher self to decide where we go, and what we will experience in the next life.

I'm sure you heard the old saying that "we are our own worst judges" well I believe that's exactly right. We're always willing to judge someone else, but we also tend judge ourselves more harshly than others. Learn not to be too hard on yourself, because in the end this just might be a deciding factor where you go when you leave this world.

Most people believe that when you die you go through a "life review" and this life review will decide whether you go to heaven or hell. Now let's take that one step further. I believe that when you die that "you" decide where you go. You also decide: what type of life that you will lead, what you will experience in the next life, who your friends will be, and when you will die. Every decision is yours alone to make; that is your "higher self's" decision.

I do believe in a heaven of a sort, and I also believe it resides in the fourth dimension. But in the end it's your decision whether you decide to stay in "Heaven," or whether you choose to extend the growth of your soul or not and move on. Each life which we live gives us a "new" chance to experience, and grow with each new existence.

The God Spirit

If we chose to stop after this life, then we stop and stay in the next dimension (which is the fourth dimension). But if we chose to return back to the third dimension, then we come back to experience something that we may have missed or skipped over in this life while we were here. When one door closes another one opens, the options are endless.

All of these lives are for the evolution of the soul. Each incarnation we take brings us closer to the end result; emerging with the spirit of God. We can stop at any point that we choose, and the choice is always ours alone to make.

Scientists who specialize in string theory believe that there are either ten or eleven dimensions; even they're not for sure how many dimensions exist. In the end, when we pass from this dimension we'll get a better look at "the big picture."

Our souls are energy, and energy never dies, it only displaces. So when we displace from this world, where we go will be our choice. If we decide that we need to go to hell, then we might just make a "U-Turn" and come back to this world.
