Located in Clarksville at 1223 W. HWY. 131, Autograph Gallery serves corporations, schools, medical institutions, volunteer clubs, sporting clubs, police and fire departments, and individuals with their framing and recognition needs.
"We use a lot of creativity in the use of language that allow people to convey the message they want [when recognizing an achievement]," Jerry Morris says.
With the help of his granddaughter, Tyra Morris-Page, Morris does all of the engraving, framing, and award designs on location. He has over 38 years experience in engraving and opened Autograph Personal Framing with his wife in 1990. In 1997, they bought a trophy company and established Autograph Gallery with the merger of the two . Taking pride in the quality that they offer, they take their business seriously.
"Awards are usually long time gifts," Morris says. "Their purpose is to last a life time, and it's not uncommon to see awards earned in high school and college on the walls of retired people."
Autograph Gallery can do engraving on just about any item, although they do not work with jewelry. They sell many gift items that can be engraved like pocket knives, pins, desk pen sets, wooden post-it note holders and even gavels. In addition to traditional engraving, they also use laser equipment to engrave acrylic, wood, brass and aluminum awards. Morris says the laser allows for more precise engraving. He feels that the message, along with the way it is conveyed, is an important part of recognition, and that is why Autograph Gallery stresses quality at competitive prices.
"The important thing is to acknowledge achievement." he says. "If we can't do it right, we don't do it."
In addition to gifts, they also have a wide variety of creative awards, metals, certificates and trophies. They have cast-resin, plastic and metal trophies, including creative "bobble head" trophies.
Autograph Gallery also works with framing and the mounting of certificates. According to Morris, colors and types of mats and frames chosen can really make a difference in displaying awards.
"It's an interesting and exciting business," Morris says. "People come in because they want to acknowledge something. They are upbeat and happy because they are about to do something for someone and we enjoy working with people like that."
