The new iMac products has the latest Intel Core 2 Duo Processors, and includes the ultra-thin aluminum Apple Keyboard which is just .33 inches thin, built-in video camera and Apple's new iLife '08, an award-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications. Also include in every iMac is the Mac OS X version 10.4.10 Tiger, Safari browser, Mail, iCal, iChat AV, Front Row and Photo Booth.
But more than just design, the new iMacs will be available in 3 powerful configurations: 20 inch 2.0 GHz iMac, 20 inch 2.4 GHz iMac, and 24 inch 2.4 GHz iMac.
The 20 inch 2.0 GHz model will have a 250 GB Serial ATA hard drive, and ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB GDDR3 memory graphics card. The 20 inch 2.4 GHz model will have a 320 GB Serial ATA hard drive and ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB GDDR3 memory graphics card while the 24 inch 2.4 GHz model will have a 320 GB Serial ATA hard drive and the same graphics card as the 20 inch 2.4 GHz model.
Configurations common to all three are: 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory, FireWire 400 and FireWIre 800 port, 3 USB 2.0 ports on the computer with additional two 2.0 USB ports on the keyboard, Built-in stereo speakers and microphone, 10/100/1000 Base-T Enthernet, 802.11n AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth 2.0, built-in IR receiver, and a 8x SuperDrive DVD burner.
iMac customers can also choose to customize their iMacs specifications and Apple included build to order options and accessories like a 2.8 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, and a 750 GB Serial ATA hard drive on the 2.4 GHz 20 inch iMac model or 500 GB Serial ATA hard drive on the 2.0 GHz 20 inch model . Users can also choose to upgrade the memory to 4 GB, or go wireless with Apple Wireless Keyboard and wireless Mighty Mouse. Other build to order options include AppleCare Protection Plan, and pre-installed copies iWork '08, Logic Express 7, Final Cut Express HD 3.5 and Aperture 1.5.
The iMac's price starts at $1,199 for the 2.0 GHz 20 inch iMac model, $1,499 for the 2.4 GHz 20-inch iMac, and $1,799 for the 24 inch 2.4 GHz iMac model. The new iMacs are already available at Apple Stores, and Apple Authorized dealers nationwide.
