Travis Barker had a near fatal accident in the bands hiatus when his plane crashed killing almost everybody on the plane. Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge had been busy coming out with an occasional side project here and there. Travis has been getting more and more tattoos over the years. This will be the bands fifth studio album, the band will tour after the release of the album.
Travis Barker had his arm in a sling from the accident still, so it remains to be seen how that is going to affect recording for the new album. The extent of the injury is not truly known to fans, so it should be interesting to see when he comes back how his playing is. The guy was in a plane crash for Christ sakes.
The new album will be coming out this summer, and this summer is when the new Blink 182 album will rock in the fans ears once again. Blink 182 has yet to name the album, or give a release date, but the album will be coming out this summer according to the band.
Even more exciting news for fans is the fact that Mark Hoppus was quoted in an interview saying "...all of our energy is going into Blink-182. This isn't a temporary thing."
Hoppus said that this is not a reunion, just continuing what they have always done. "When I hear a band is doing a reunion, it just sounds fake to me, and that's not how we are with this. Everybody's putting 100 percent of their effort into continuing what we've always done." This quote definitely says that Blink 182 means business about returning to the punk rock scene and that they are going to be major players in 2009 with this new Blink 182 album.
In conclusion, Blink 182 has an album coming out this summer, it is the bands first in seven years. Fans can't wait for the band that has been out of action for the better part of the 2000's. The punk rock scene needs Blink 182 back these days, and they will be back this summer.

i agree Brandon! :)
I dont think you have all of your facts correct.....its been 5 1/2years since their last album, and they broke up in march of 05, plus Mark Hoppus and Travis had a band call +44 that was not some side project, but an established band, and Tom Delongs band angels and airwaves toured Multiple times, came out with 2 full length albums, and even produced a Motion Picture....... thats not a side project.
