Know anyone who is about to get married? This simple and elegant tablecloth for two is the perfect engagement gift! Use the bride and groom's name to personalized this simple and elegant wedding engagement gift and you will create something unique that will be cherished for years.

Although this specific New Bride and Groom Name example is made out of a refined cotton fabric you should make this out of a canvas tablecloth or even some silk. You could either buy a pre made solid colored tablecloth or buy some refined cotton or silk material at the fabric store.

To Make a New Bride and Groom Name Fabric Table Cloth You will need:

Refined Cotton Material (or a pre made tablecloth)

Fabric Paint

Paint Brushes

Accent Fabric

Fabric Glue

Stamps

Measure your table to determine what size New Bride and Groom Name table cloth you will need.

Next, Cut your cotton fabric out to the desire length to fit your table. I recommend making this a tablecloth for two, since it would be perfect for a romantic dinner for two. If you know what size table the new bride and groom have, then aim for that size.

You could also purchase a plain fabric tablecloth to do this New Bride and Groom Name project. This will give you a finished work surface that all you have to do is decorate.

Now, just to be cute you should make the wedding engagement table cloth say "Mr. & Mrs. --------." If you want though, it could say "John & Jane Smith." Have fun playing around with the names.

You could do a mish mash of all term of endearment as well. For example, "Honey," "Dear," "Sugar," and so forth mixed in with the "Mr. & Mrs." Make this wedding engagement gift an ode to marriage!

Now, get the paint ready. This can be a slightly messy project, so I recommend doing it outside if at all possible. Pour a different color of fabric paint in it's own plate. Plastic or Styrofoam plates work best. If you are out of disposable plates you can easily cover a ceramic plate in aluminum foil for the paint.

Dip your stamp letters into the paint.

Now you need to press your stamps onto the fabric tablecloth. Make sure to space your card suit stamps around the New Bride and Groom Name table cloth covering every area evenly. It is a very good idea to save a piece of scrap fabric so you can practice making your letters and words. This will show you how much paint you need on their stamps to get a good and clean print on the wedding tablecloth.

Limit the paint colors to only two to three colors for a pulled together New Bride and Groom Name look. For an artsy and eclectic look mix and match as many colors as possible.

Let the painted words prints dry before you move on to the next step.

Once all of the paint has dried you can add a finishing boarder to the New Bride and Groom Name tablecloth.

Cut out a 6 inch wide strip of accent fabric. You can use a solid color or even some fun accent fabric with a romantic or domestic themed print on it. I like retro domestic themes because it makes this simple tablecloth more homey looking.

You will need 4 strips; each should be the length of each of the sides of the New Bride and Groom Name tablecloth. Add on Four inches to the length of each strip.

Lay the strips of accent fabric out with the pattern side down. Fold up one inch on each long side of the strip. Fold over the strip into the middle of the fabric and iron it down. This will make your strip 4 inches wide.

Now, fold the entire strip over perfectly in half. This will leave you with a 2 sided 2 inch piece of fabric with no rough edges. This will be your New Bride and Groom Name tablecloth border.

Use no sew, fabric glue, or a sewing machine to attach the accent fabric to the edges of your New Bride and Groom Name tablecloth.

Apply the long side of the accent fabric to the New Bride and Groom Name table cloth first. Then apply one end strip. Tuck the edges of the end of the fabric in to create a neat and finished edge. Repeat on the final short side.

Tips: Wash and dry all of you fabric before you make this New Bride and Groom Name tablecloth. This will go ahead and shrink fabric and set it for the fabric paint.
