Are you planning a trip to Disneyland and California Adventure soon? Are you trying to figure out what rides are the best to ride during your limited stay there? Well look no further than Toy Story Midway Mania. Though on the outside this ride looks like a small side attraction for kids, it is actually probably one of the most fun rides at either of the parks.

With its arcade style shooting, this ride is very comparable to the Disneyland ride, Astro Blasters. Though these two rides are much alike, Astro Blasters is a bore compared to Toy Story Midway Mania. Midway Mania is based on all of the characters in the Toy Story series, while Astro Blasters is only based on Buzz Lightyear and Zurg.

More important than the characters, the ride itself is much better than Astro Blasters. This ride is a "4-D" experience to remember. Before getting on the ride each person receives a pair of 3-D glasses, but once on the ride the last "D" will come in to play. Once on the actual Midway Mania ride, you instantly get swung around to a screen where there are multiple targets. Your partner and you will then be competing for the next few minutes to see who can accumulate the most points by hitting more targets than your opponent.

After first arriving in Disney's California Adventure, I was skeptical about Toy Story Midway Mania, even though Toy Story is my favorite Disney movie. The ride is directly underneath California Screamin'. The reason I was skeptical was that it looked more like a carnival ride than an actual good ride. All of my skepticism left me once the ride began though. I instantly got sucked into the ride and completely bought into it. These were by far the best 5 minutes I have spent on any ride at Disneyland or California Adventure.

Before I left Disneyland and California Adventure though, I knew that I would regret not going on that ride, so I went on it! Since there is no FastPass for the ride, the line is pretty long. I would say about 30-35 minutes. This was the longest line I waited in the entire two days that I was in Disneyland and California Adventure, but have to say that it was the most worthwhile wait of any ride. Try and get to this ride early in the day, as the line does get long. If the line is long though, don't worry. It will still be well worth your time.
