New Children's Dining Options at Walt Disney World

Disney's Offering of Both Healthy and Tasty Meal Choices is Available for Your Next Vacation

When vacationing at Walt Disney World, many parents are worried that their children may not find any of the familiar foods on menus their children love and have grown to prefer. Other times finicky eaters, or children who like too much of one type of food, can cause parents worry and undue stress. Thanks to changes in the way Disney has modified its children's menu, parents can now explore their children's meal options before they dine at Walt Disney World.

For parents who want to purchase a children's meal individually, the meal consists of an entree, two sides, and a beverage. Entree selections vary by park or resort, but some of the choices that have been offered are: a chicken drumstick, chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, turkey and cheese pinwheels, and other items specific to individual resorts. In choosing sides, there are many choices too, such as: applesauce, carrots, grapes, and fries (which are offered as a side, but sometimes not posted as a choice). The entree and two sides are arranged in a Mickey shaped plate with the entree going in the "face" part, and each side placed in one of the "ear" compartments.

Next, a beverage is selected from the cooler. The kid's selections are noted on the cooler shelf and include: white milk (regular and low fat), chocolate milk (low fat), boxed apple juice, orange juice, or a small bottle of water. Children's drink cups are available from the cashier for parents who would rather their child drink tea or fountain drinks. In choosing a beverage, it is important to consider the following factors: length of stay and overall family dining plans. This is important because the option of purchasing a refillable mug may be a better value. For example, a family staying a week would save more by purchasing a refillable mug and using it whenever a beverage is required. Refillable mugs are also a great option if the family is ordering a communal meal, such as a pizza, where a beverage would have to be purchased for the entire family. If a refillable mug seems like an option you wish to pursue, the perfect selection for a beverage with the kid's meal would be a bottle of water. This would save parents from having to purchase their child a bottle of water when visiting the parks; since bottled water is allowed to be brought into the park by guests.

Overall, the children's meals are a healthy and tasty alternative to fast food at Walt Disney World. Reasonably priced between $3.99 to $4.29, the quantity and quality of food offered, in addition to beverage choices, makes Disney dining options for children a stress-free choice for parents. Take advantage of this great meal option for your children the next time you visit Walt Disney World.

  • Children's menu items at Walt Disney World are reasonably priced and offer many choices.
  • Children may to get water with their kid's meal and bring the water bottle with them to the park.
  • Don't worry that there will not be enough food, as the kid's meals are very hearty.
Should your child only be interested in one of the sides, ask to see if you can get two of the same item.
