I think it is safe to say many of us have been to innumerable Chinese foodbuffets. Many are interchangeable, and the freshness and quality of the food is almost always debatable. In fact, most people have their own set of "buffet rules" they follow such as: Never eat the sushi or chilled shrimp! You never know if they've been sitting there for hours or maybe, disgustingly, even longer! Or, only eat foods with easily recognizable ingredients. What you don't recognize may very well be rat! Those are two rules I always followed when eating at a buffet. You were sure to get stomach cramps and 3 hours in the bathroom, otherwise.

New China is different. Amazing, but true. This restaurant has by far the freshest assortment of foods I have ever encountered, buffet or no. You will repeatedly see the sushi prepared and sushi bar refilled during your stay. Your Mongolian barbeque is always prepared on a freshly cleaned grill with the largest assortment of spices and sauces anywhere. The shrimp and salad table is always fresh, clean, and quite varied. And of course the main food, the reason so many of us go, is absolutely delicious. I've never had better Chinese food, even from a non-buffet Chinese restaurant.

As if that weren't enough, this particular restaurant has two things that will always keep me going there over any other restaurant: Diet Pepsi, and amazing Wasabi! When so few restaurants will offer anything beyond the oh-so-unappealing Diet Coke, New China has always perfectly mixed Diet Pepsi for people like me, who can hardly stand any other diet. This leaves the Wasabi. Many restaurants dilute their Wasabi by either making it a soupy, watered down mess, or simply not using as much of the Japanese Horse Radish base. There is nothing more disappointing than weak Wasabi.

As strange as it may sound, I have not only eaten at New China for both lunch and dinner, I've also eaten there multiple times in one weekend, and ate there following my recent small wedding in Hopkinsville. I have never, not once, been disappointed in the service, the food or the price. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable, and the price is definitely a huge bargain for the quality (and obviously quantity) of the food you will receive.

So, should you be visiting the great city of Clarksville TN (or for those of you stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, just moments away), you must stop by New China for lunch or dinner. It has he freshest foods, largest variety, nicest staff and greatest preparation of any Chinese restaurant-in Clarksville or otherwise.
