In Sept. 2010 when the long running CBS "As the World Turns" soap opera leaves the air, there will be a new daytime talk show coming to take its place in October. Sara Gilbert, who played Darlene Conner, Roseanne Barr's daughter from 1988 -1997 in the sitcom "Roseanne" is set to co-host and produce a new talk show that will focus on a 'mothers' view of the entertainment world. With the target audience being mothers, will it be good enough to dethrone daytime rival talk show "The View," like it aims to do?

The new daytime talk show has yet to be named, but all of the hosts have been determined and they are quite a versatile mix! In addition to Sara Gilbert, the other hosts will be current co-anchor for The Early Show and Big Brother host Julie Chen, "21 Jump Street's" Holly Robinson Peete, "America's Got Talent's" Sharon Osbourne, "The King of Queens" star Leah Remini, and Broadway actress Marissa Jaret Winokur.

All of these hosts are mothers and no doubt each will bring something different to the table in their new daily chat show. Julie Chen is a fairly new mother having had her son in September of 2009. She will be giving up her job as co-anchor on the CBS Early Show to attend to her new job as co-host of the talk show. She has been in that position since 2002 and has been co-hosting the popular and successful reality show "Big Brother" since its inception 12 years ago. Chen is certainly talented and experienced enough to be an influence in the show's success.

Sara Gilbert will bring a different viewpoint to the talk show. As the lesbian mom of 2 children, with her long-time partner Allison Adler, she will offer a non-conventional tone to the show. Gilbert leads a vegan lifestyle and supports organizations such as PETA, Meals on Wheels, Freedom of Speech, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Though she hasn't been co-host of a talk show in the past, she will certainly be an asset to the show with her many different views and openly gay lifestyle.

Sharon Osbourne, wife of Ozzy, and judge on the very successful show "America's Got Talent" is a flavor all her own. She has a great sense of humor and is well-versed in living the celebrity life. She is the mother of Jack and Kelly who are all grown up and living their own "sometimes troubled" lives in the eyes of the public and paparazzi. Sharon will be the "really" experience Mom on the show. She will be the draw for many to the show and many 'moms' out there will relate to her and the problems she has experienced as a celebrity Mom.

Holly Robinson Peete is a successful actress and the mother of 4 children, one of which has autism and another two of the children are fraternal twins. She has been married to father Rodney Peete, a professional football player since 1995. Peete also has two published books, "Get Your Own Damn Beer, I'm Watching the Game: A Woman's Guide to Loving Pro Football" with Daniel Paisner, and "Proud Hands" which was written as a tribute to her father. This lady knows how to juggle life's circumstances and be successful at it. She will be an inspiration to many viewer moms who will watch the new daytime talk show.

Another host of the new daytime talk show will be Leah Rimini, best known for her current role on the CBS sitcom "The King of Queens." She is married to actor Angelo Pagan who has also appeared on "The King of Queens," and is mom to 3 children from a previous marriage. Rimini is also a member of The Church of Scientology.

Marissa Jaret Winokur, another one of the 6 co-hosts of the soon to be newest daytime female talk show is married to Judah Miller and they became the parents of a son Zev (via a surrogate mother) in 2008. Winokur is a survivor of cervical cancer which she was diagnosed with while in the development of the musical Hairspray. In addition to being an actress and a mom, Winokur has been a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars" and has played roles in films such as American Beauty, Never Been Kissed, Scary Movie, Shrek the Halls, and many others.

With these 6 strong females co-hosting the View-style new daytime talk show premiering in October, I think it may give "The View" some tough competition. These ladies are not bashful and they all have strong personalities and beliefs, which is what it will take to bring a fresh new perspective to the daytime talk show circuit. Offering their viewpoints as Moms on current events will provide a new way for Moms watching to have some adult companionship in their living rooms during the day. I look forward to this new talk show even if I am not a Mom! Best of luck ladies!

wow, idk if it can dethrone the View, not that I'll ever see it since I'll be at work. ha ha ha. Well, if they have anything interesting, I'm sure I'll see it online or on the news, or even on AC :-)
