New Design of Gucci's Website Makes it Easier Than Ever to Find Gucci Online

An Interesting Look at Gucci's New Website, and Their New Approach at Digital Media and Social Networking

Christopher
I hadn't been to the Gucci website, or any other designer websites for a while as the only thing you could purchase were leather goods. But times have changed, and you can now find men and women's Ready to Wear on their new website. In fact I never would have known where it not for a video I found on the New York Times channel on YouTube.

You do not see as much of the signature Gucci logo than you did in the past, but there are new finds that intrigue me. One of which is their heritage pant in a fitted silhouette. Another look, this great long sleeve knit cardigan also jumped out at me. A sweater in a classic diamante pattern evokes old school Italian chic.

Gucci is also active on Twitter and Facebook, and now has their own channel on YouTube. One of their favorite videos is Timberland's Carry Out featuring Justin Timberlake. Did I forget to mention Gucci Connect, their podcasts, and iPod apps? This is all good news for fans that want to connect with Gucci in a different way. It is also a nice answer to other brands like D & G and Armani that have been selling clothes online for years. Although, the Swide magazine by Dolce and Gabanna is an interesting way to promote the brand and I have to admit, I am still a junkie for the music on the Armani website.

One thing that has not changed with these websites is that you are only going to buy the bridge, cheap and chic, or diffusion lines online. Gucci seems to be the exception though, but then again, I do not remember Gucci having other lines to begin with. Ralph Lauren had taken the Purple Label off of his website for a while but it has now finally returned. The Black Label was always there. I would be interested to know exactly how the decision is made as to what clothing will appear on the website ...
