Those restrictions are that the person cannot drive after 9pm without a parental figure or adult, they are however permitted to drive after 9 if they are going to work or school, also there is suppose to be no more then 2 other people under 21 in the vehicle unless they are members of the immediate family. Driver's can have these restrictions lifted if they complete an approved drivers course or turn the age of 18.
The vehicle according to Fox that Goodman was driving crashed right around 10pm on this past Tuesday night when the SUV collided head-on with a tractor trailer. The tragedy also is that the other 4 girls that were riding with Goodman also lost their lives. The other girls that died in the crash were according to Fox and authorities in Ontario County, New York were 17 year old Meredith McClure, and 18 year olds Sara Monnat, Hannah Congdon, and Katie Shirley. All five of the girls had graduated from Fairpoint High School in Rochester, New York only days before.
Officials tell Fox News that they are aware that Bailey Goodman only had a junior license and they are investigating this aspect of the case. Witnesses to the crash told authorities according to the Fox report that Goodman was "driving east when she passed a van by crossing into the westbound lane of the two-lane highway. She returned to the eastbound lane, but for some reason swerved back into oncoming traffic."
Sheriff Lt. Bill Gallagher told Fox News that "At this point in time, it looks like human error. The investigation is not finished but we have been able to eliminate some factors." Gallagher also tells Fox News that "the driver and a passenger in the van told investigators they were traveling at the 55 mph speed limit when Goodman's vehicle passed them, and the tractor-trailer driver tried avoid the collision. He said there were no obvious roadway hazards or malfunctions in the 2005 Chevy Trailblazer."
At press time Fox News says that a family friend says that Goodman's family is unable or not ready to talk about Bailey Goodman's role in the accident.

Post a CommentOne could hope for two things: that teens will stop texting while driving, and that parents won't allow their children to break traffic laws because they appear to be mature. But I don't think either of those things will happen, so I guess we'll see more accidents like this one, and the one in Lakeland, Florida, and the one in Fairfax, Virginia. Three cars, thirteen young people dead, school's barely out for summer.
How sad.
