New Development in the Star Wars Universe!

With the release of the upcoming Star Wars The Clone Wars movie, interest in Star Wars is back on the climb. Rumor (well founded) has it that the CGI movie is the prelude to an ongoing series.

Other things are happening in the shared Universe created by George Lucas. Among other things, the novels are taking a darker turn in Legacy of the Force. There are big changes, new Sith, and the Death of TWO major characters, and the rebirth of a minor one!

Also, Star Wars has it's first openly gay couple! Goran Beviin, Boba Fett's choice to take over as leader of the Mandalorians, and his husband Medrit Vasar have busted the no gays in the Star Wars Universe thing to a thousand shards. No wishy washy ambiguity, no gender quirks of an alien race, and no sensationalism. They are a married couple, well past the honeymoon stage. It's just a fact of life. And no one cares.

And that is the way it should be. I hope other positive gay characters will be forth coming.

Also contributing to the resurgence are the success of the Dark Horse line of comics. Knights of the Old Republic takes the story into the ancient history of the movies, and Legacy explores the future, 137 years after the battle of Yavin. These are top flight stories with great art.

Also; Wizards of the Coast have released their updated Star Wars Role Playing Game, to match their new Dungeons and Dragons 4^th Edition system. Reworked, it is simple and quick, and it works!
